Overview

This is an office-based position.

Responsibilities

Job Summary:
  • We're seeking a proactive O365/Azure Administrator to serve as the primary administrator for the organization's Microsoft cloud platform, supporting all departments and ensuring the stability, continuity, and security of enterprise-wide services This role requires someone who is both technically adept and consultative, able to advise internal teams on their needs while maintaining a secure and resilient infrastructure.

Cloud Platform Administration:
  • Administer and document the O365 and Azure environments to ensure business continuity and ease of future knowledge transfer.
  • Manage core Microsoft services including O365, Intune Endpoint Management, Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, etc.
  • Manage Exchange Online including mailbox provisioning, mail flow rules, transport connectors, and email authentication standards (DKIM, DMARC, SPF).
  • Support application management and Azure registrations, researching and implementing solutions as needed.
  • Manage multiple tenants (experience with multi-tenant environments is a plus).
  • Administer the Power Platform (Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps) from an administrative (not development) perspective.

Identity, Security & Compliance:
  • Oversee Identity and Access Management (IDAM), including MFA, policies, and conditional access.
  • Configure and manage Microsoft Defender for Office 365 policies, monitor security alerts, and investigate potential identity-based threats across the tenant.
  • Implement and manage data loss prevention (DLP) policies, retention labels, and compliance features within Microsoft Purview to meet organizational and regulatory requirements.

Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery:
  • Develop, test, and maintain backup and disaster recovery procedures for all cloud-based applications and data to ensure business continuity.

Licensing & Cost Optimization:
  • Manage Microsoft 365 licensing assignments across the organization, conduct periodic audits to reclaim unused licenses, and optimize SKU allocation to control costs.

Automation & Scripting:
  • Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts and automation workflows to streamline repetitive administrative tasks and reduce manual effort.

Monitoring & Support:
  • Proactively monitor Microsoft 365 and Azure service health dashboards, investigate tenant-level incidents, and analyze service health trends to address issues before they impact users.
  • Coordinate support issues and escalate as needed through Microsoft support contracts.

Consultation & Collaboration:
  • Consult with internal teams to understand needs and provide technical recommendations.


Qualifications

  • Typically requires 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 ecosystem and administration best practices.
  • Advanced hands-on experience with Azure administration.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for Microsoft 365 and Azure administration; familiarity with Azure CLI or Microsoft Graph API is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of cloud security principles, including zero-trust architecture, identity protection, and data loss prevention.
  • Familiarity with Power Platform administration and Power BI governance.
  • Excellent documentation, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
