Description

Primarily Remote | St. Louis, Missouri

You May Not Be Looking for a Job. Good.

Some of the best attorneys we hire are already successful where they are. They are not necessarily unhappy. They may simply be asking whether their current firm can provide the cases, support, technology, resources, and long-term opportunity they want for the next stage of their career.

If that sounds familiar, we would like to talk with you.

McCready Law is expanding its Missouri practice and is looking for an experienced personal injury attorney who is ready to take ownership of an established caseload and practice with the support of a growing, well-resourced firm.

The Opportunity

This is a primarily remote position based in the St. Louis market. You will step into an existing caseload consisting of both pre-litigation and litigation matters. You will not be expected to build a book of business in order to succeed here.

We provide the cases, support, systems, and resources. We are looking for an attorney who will take ownership of the matters assigned to them, communicate with clients, make sound decisions, move cases forward, and ask for help when appropriate.

While your normal workday may primarily be remote, in-person attendance will be required when the practice calls for it, including court appearances, depositions, mediations, trials, significant client matters, and occasional Firm meetings.

We Want Lawyers Practicing Law

Our attorneys are supported by a broad infrastructure that includes:
  • Case management and paralegal support
  • Centralized intake
  • Medical records support
  • Lien and settlement resources
  • Litigation support
  • Technology and AI tools
  • Data and reporting
  • Marketing infrastructure
  • Administrative and operational support
  • Financial resources to appropriately develop cases
  • Continuing education and professional development
  • Access to Firm leadership

We want our attorneys focused on evaluating cases, communicating with clients, negotiating, taking depositions, developing strategy, litigating, and trying cases when appropriate-not spending their time doing administrative work that can be handled by dedicated support teams.

What You'll Do

Depending on your experience and caseload, responsibilities may include:
  • Evaluate liability, damages, and case value
  • Develop case strategy
  • Communicate directly with clients
  • Review medical records and damages
  • Prepare and evaluate demands
  • Negotiate with insurance carriers
  • File and manage lawsuits
  • Handle written discovery
  • Take and defend depositions
  • Participate in mediations
  • Handle motion practice
  • Work with experts
  • Prepare cases for trial
  • Try cases when appropriate
  • Work effectively with case managers, paralegals, and other support professionals

A Technology-Forward Firm

The practice of law is changing, and McCready Law is continuing to invest in technology, automation, data, process improvement, and artificial intelligence. Our attorneys have access to tools designed to support case analysis, medical record review, discovery, litigation preparation, research, knowledge management, and workflow efficiency. You do not need to be an AI expert. You do need to be curious, willing to learn, and open to improving the way legal work gets done.

The Attorneys Who Thrive Here

Our strongest attorneys tend to share a few qualities:
  • They take ownership.
  • They communicate.
  • They are responsive to clients.
  • They are comfortable with accountability.
  • They accept feedback.
  • They ask for help when needed.
  • They are willing to change a process when a better approach exists.
  • They focus on solving problems rather than assigning blame.

At McCready Law, accountability and support go together. We expect a great deal from our attorneys, and we believe the Firm has a responsibility to provide the resources they need to succeed.

Compensation

This position is designed for an experienced attorney, and compensation will reflect experience, demonstrated production, litigation capability, and the responsibilities of the individual selected.

Compensation Range: $165,000 - $250,000 - bonus eligible

Our attorney compensation structure also includes opportunities for significant performance-based compensation. Attorneys who generate cases may qualify for additional referral compensation under the Firm's attorney referral program.

Benefits

McCready Law offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:
  • Medical and dental coverage
  • Retirement benefits
  • Firm-paid life insurance
  • Firm-paid short-term disability
  • Firm-paid long-term disability
  • Additional voluntary insurance options
  • CLE and professional development support
  • Unlimited PTO for attorneys
  • Performance-based compensation opportunities

Specific plan details and eligibility will be discussed during the hiring process.

Our Hiring Process

Our hiring process may include:
  • Application and résumé review
  • Initial conversation with HR
  • Interviews with Firm leadership
  • Review of prior experience and work
  • Work-style assessment
  • Reference and background review, as appropriate
  • Final discussion regarding expectations, compensation, and fit.

Interested?

If you are currently employed, that is completely fine. All inquiries from currently employed attorneys will be treated confidentially.

You do not have to decide today that you are ready to leave your current firm.

You only have to decide whether a conversation is worthwhile.

Apply to begin a confidential conversation with McCready Law.
