  • Assist project managers with various mechanical engineering tasks.

Overview

Kimley-Horn's is seeking a Mechanical Engineer-In-Training with 2+ years of experience to join the Sacramento, CA office's MEP team!

Responsibilities
  • Support our Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing team specifically working on Building Systems Engineering and/or Industrial project types.
  • Perform general mechanical engineering tasks supporting various projects such as load calculations for HVAC, Exhaust, Chilled & Heating Hot Water Systems.
  • Prepare design drawings - floor plans, flow diagrams, details, schedules, etc. and calculations for projects under a Professional Engineer.
  • Solve complex problems, assist project managers, and collaborate across disciplines to produce our clients27 visions for the future built environment.
  • Familiarity with the State and local Code regulations, as well as Kimley-Horn27s and our client27s practices, procedures, and standards.
  • Project type will vary but may include advanced manufacturing facilities, industrial facilities, and mission critical facilities.

Qualifications
  • 2+ years experience in a similar mechanical engineering role with familiarity working on advanced manufacturing facilities, industrial facilities, and mission critical facilities
  • An ABET accredited engineering degree (Bachelors or Masters) in Mechanical Engineering
  • EIT/EI certification and/or Professional Engineering (P.E.) License (or ability to obtain licensure)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Ability to apply technical skills to meet project demands and solve problems for our clients
  • Positive attitude and an impressive work ethic
  • Clear sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet deadlines

Salary Range: $90,000 - $135,000
