Connect your passion with purpose, teaming with people who thrive on finding innovative solutions to some of healthcare's biggest challenges.

The Experienced Business Analyst - Provider+ Configuration Lead plays a critical role in supporting technical execution for MMIS Medicaid Management Information Systems (MMIS) and/or the Medicaid Pharmacy environment. This role provides hands-on technical analysis, SQL development, data validation, integration support, and system troubleshooting across one or more functional domains, including Member, Provider, Claims (Medical, Dental, and/or Pharmacy), Utilization Management, Prior Authorization, Finance, and Plan/Care Management.

Working closely with Business Analysts (BAs), Configuration Analysts (CAs), conversion teams, and QA, the Technical Analyst ensures solutions are technically sound, data-driven, scalable, and aligned with system architecture. This role supports solution design, technical documentation, data setup, testing, performance tuning, and issue resolution throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Here are the details on this position.

Your role in our mission

Technical Analysis & Data Expertise
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize complex SQL queries, views, and stored procedures to support analysis, configuration validation, reporting, and defect resolution.
  • Perform in-depth data analysis and root-cause investigations to troubleshoot system and production issues.
  • Use SQL to extract, analyze, reconcile, and validate data across environments to support solutioning, testing, and quality assurance.
  • Support performance tuning activities by analyzing queries, batch jobs, execution plans, and system throughput.
  • Perform smoke testing and post-release validation to confirm data integrity and system stability.

Data, Conversion & Integration Support
  • Coordinate with data conversion teams to support migration planning, data loads, reconciliation, and validation.
  • Validate converted and migrated data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with business and policy intent.
  • Support and validate configuration syncs (e.g., Redgate) from baseline to upper environments (source-to-target).
  • Analyze, validate, and reconcile interface outputs, extract files, reports, and database feeds.
  • Validate X12 EDI transactions (e.g., 834, 837, 835, 820, 999/277) for structure, content, and processing outcomes.
  • Coordinate and manage reference data files and national standard code sets, investigating data variances as needed.

Solution Design & Technical Validation
  • Support Business Analysts by translating functional requirements into technical specifications and solution models.
  • Interpret and leverage Data Element Dictionaries (DEDs) to understand data structures, relationships, and cross-module dependencies.
  • Analyze and document data flows, integration logic, and technical dependencies across internal systems and external interfaces.
  • Perform feasibility analysis on requested features, identifying technical constraints, data impacts, and integration considerations.
  • Participate in design and requirements workshops, providing technical insight to ensure business and technical alignment.
  • Present and explain technical impacts or solution gaps to governance forums such as Architecture Review Boards (ARB) or Change Control Boards (CCB) as needed

Testing & Deployment Support
  • Support System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), parallel testing, and performance testing by validating data and system behavior.
  • Assist with test data setup, environment readiness, validation scripts, and reconciliation activities.
  • Analyze defects related to data, interfaces, configuration syncs, and performance; implement and validate fixes.
  • Support deployment, cutover activities, hypercare, and post-production issue resolution.

Collaboration, Communication & Leadership Support
  • Serve as a technical liaison between Business Analysts, Configuration Analysts, developers, QA, conversion teams, and operations.
  • Clearly document and communicate technical findings, risks, root causes, and resolution approaches to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with configuration teams on data mappings and configuration validation.
  • Mentor junior technical analysts on SQL, data standards, troubleshooting techniques, and documentation best practices.
  • May lead sub-tracks within technical workstreams to ensure timely and high-quality delivery.

Expected Outcomes
  • Accurate, actionable technical and data insights supporting requirements, design, and testing decisions.
  • Clear technical documentation of data flows, integrations, configuration dependencies, and solution gaps.
