Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs as per outlined orders with efficiency and accuracy.
  • Diagnose vehicle malfunctions and execute repairs accordingly.
  • Communicate with parts department to secure necessary parts.
  • Tag parts for warranty jobs or customer requests.
  • Inspect vehicles to identify any additional safety or service concerns.
  • Promptly inform service advisor of any changes to necessary repair estimates.
  • Document work performed in a timely manner.
  • Conduct road tests when needed.
  • Attend factory training to stay updated on technical bulletins.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work area and account for all tools.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and promptly report any incidents.

Full Job Description
We had a couple of our longtime Technicians retire and now have an immediate opening available. Our Toyota technicians average 13 years working at our dealership and service advisors average 11 years. Come join this stable and productive team!

  • Schedule is a set 5-day work week.
  • We are one of the top Toyota service departments in the state and have expanded into the building next door due to customer demand! We have an air-conditioned shop and are also the Parts Delivery Distribution Hub for Toyota corporate.
  • Pay is based on booked hours and pays from $1200 - $3200 weekly depending on experience level.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Previous experience working at a dealership.
  • Toyota or other import experience a plus.
  • ASE Certifications are required.
  • Communication skills - communicates effectively with others.
  • Time management - managing one's own time and time of others.
  • Typing - ability to type efficiently in order to enter repair orders.
  • Personal and professional integrity.
  • MUST be able to pass a criminal background check before starting.
  • MUST have a valid Illinois Drivers License and at least 3 years of driving experience.


RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
  • Diagnose cause of malfunction and perform repair.
  • Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts.
  • Save and tag parts if the job is under warranty or if requested by the customer.
  • Examine the vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is required.
  • Notify service advisor immediately if additional work outlined is not needed or required and/ if repairs cannot be completed within the time promised.
  • Document work in a timely fashion.
  • Road-test vehicles when required
  • Attend factory-sponsored training classes, keep abreast of factory technical bulletins
  • Keep shop area neat, clean, and be able to account for all dealership-owned tools at all times.
  • Understand and follow federal, state and local regulations, such as those governing the disposal of hazardous wastes.
  • Must follow all company safety policies and procedures, and immediately report any and all accidents to a manager or supervisor.
