Join Emplify Health and help shape the future of healthcare experiences. As a Designer, you'll play a key role in creating intuitive, human-centered digital solutions that improve the experiences of patients, providers, and healthcare teams.

In this role, you'll participate in the digital product development process, from early research and discovery workshops to feature definition to ongoing UX support for products. You'll have involvement in creating modern and intuitive software solutions that follow best practices, while also pushing the boundaries of what is possible as design patterns, techniques and user needs evolve. 

This role executes in the following capability categories: user experience knowledge management, user experience strategy development, design definition and delivery, design process and tool selection and training, and user experience content production and delivery. Combines the analytical and the intuitive to translate business needs and requirements into engaging customer-focused experiences.

This position reports to the Director of Experience Design, ITDS.

Major Responsibilities Include:

Deliver intuitive, simple, and evidence-based user experiences for all digital solutions:

  • Produces user flows, wireframes, prototypes, user interface specifications, final design assets, and other common Design deliverables with a high degree of craft and attention to detail. Articulates the details of design principles so they can be consistently implemented and scaled across future solutions and projects. Works with team to effectively deliver within project timeline and budget parameters.

Conducts foundational research using Human-Centered Design best practices:

  • Plans for research and moderates user interviews and usability studies as necessary.  Collaborates with partner resources on sourcing other quantitative data. Collaborates with team members to synthesize research findings into meaningful insights.

 Proactively collaborates with project stakeholders:

  • Establishes meaningful channels of communication with project stakeholders and peers. Works closely with these individuals to validate designs and user requirements as needed on a rolling basis.

Provides ongoing UX support to vendor-provided products:

  • Works with Emplify Health product support teams to measure and analyze customer/feature usage and identify opportunities to innovate and improve customer experiences for the life cycle of vendor-provided products. Provides design thought leadership in the vendor selection process by understanding and advocating for user needs as they apply to potential features and implementation efforts.

Professional development:

  • Pursues relevant educational and professional opportunities to maintain and enhance knowledge and skills to meet department and organizational priorities.

What's Available:

  • 1.0 FTE

  • Schedule: Monday-Friday Days typically 8:00am-5:00pm

  • Location: Hybrid eligible role. This position can be filled for residents of WI, MN, or IA. This role will require occasional travel between the La Crosse, WI and Green Bay, WI regions

  • Compensation: Starting at $79,000 with opportunity for higher pay based on relevant work experience

What You'll Need:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Human Computer Interaction or related field

  • Experience: 4+ years of professional experience as a UX designer within a digital product development environment

  • Prior experience in the healthcare industry, preferred

  • Must have a strong UX & Design portfolio that demonstrates past design projects

  • Deep experience in Human-Centered Design required

  • Fluent in the standard tools of the UX trade, e.g. Figma, HTML/CSS, prototyping tools, and usability testing like UserTesting.com

  • Experience planning, implementing and reporting on user research and usability testing

  • Strong user experience skill set including; research, synthesis, design strategy, and the development of typical UX artifacts

  • Experience working in a highly collaborative design environment
