Job Summary

The Senior Exercise & Training Analyst will initially focus on Disaster Recovery technology testing and exercise activities, while supporting related training activities and maintaining broader exercise and training responsibilities across Emergency Management, Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, operational resilience, incident management, and enterprise preparedness in alignment with the Enterprise Resilience Policy and the Training, Exercise and Evaluation Standard. This role develops exercise and training materials, supports facilitation, manages evidence, documents results, and contributes to after-action reporting, corrective-action tracking, records maintenance, and program reporting. The Senior Analyst partners with Business Units, Operating Companies, technology stakeholders, and external partners to validate preparedness capabilities against defined scope, objectives, assumptions, dependencies, RTO/RPO expectations, validation criteria, and enterprise preparedness standards. Assignments may focus on exercise activities, training activities, Disaster Recovery testing, or integrated exercise and training efforts based on program needs. The Analyst Senior applies independent judgment to improve documentation quality, strengthen learning materials, measure training effectiveness, identify capability gaps, and support preparedness validation.

What You'll Do:

Essential Job Functions & Tasks:
  • Leads selected exercise and/or training activities consistent with the Enterprise Resilience Policy, the Training, Exercise and Evaluation Standard, HSEEP methodology, adult learning principles, and enterprise preparedness expectations.
  • Support or leads assigned exercise activities, training activities, Disaster Recovery testing, or integrated exercise and training efforts based on program needs, role expectations, and enterprise preparedness priorities.
  • Develops exercise materials, learning objectives, curricula, job aids, facilitation guides, validation materials, after-action inputs, and corrective-action documentation.
  • Partners with Business Units, Operating Companies, technology stakeholders, and external partners to validate preparedness capabilities and role-based readiness.
  • Monitors exercise evidence, training completion, learner feedback, documentation quality, capability gaps, and improvement-plan progress.
  • Executes assigned tabletop, functional, full-scale, seminar, workshop, Disaster Recovery testing, and training delivery activities, including scheduling, materials preparation, facilitation support, evidence management, and results documentation.
  • Supports and leads Disaster Recovery (Technology) testing activities by developing test materials, coordinating participants, managing evidence, documenting results, evaluating outcomes, and validating recovery readiness against defined scope, objectives, assumptions, dependencies, RTO/RPO expectations, validation criteria, evidence standards, and success measures.
  • Develops corrective-action documentation and reporting inputs to support improvement-plan tracking, gap resolution, preparedness reporting, and program maturity measures.
  • Partners with junior analysts by providing guidance on exercise design, training support, facilitation preparation, validation methods, and documentation quality.


Preferred Requirements:
  • Utility or critical-infrastructure experience; Enterprise Resilience Policy and Training, Exercise and Evaluation Standard familiarity; HSEEP methodology familiarity; ICS, NIMS, FEMA National Response Framework, and ISO 22301 familiarity; adult learning, instructional design, training facilitation, learning evaluation, virtual facilitation platforms, learning management systems, exercise management tools, and change management experience.


License(s)/Certification(s) are listed below:
  • MEP, CEM, AEM, CBCP, MBCP, MBCI, PMP, CPTD, ATD certificate programs, Prosci, or equivalent.

  • 4-6+ years of progressive experience in exercise design, training development, emergency management, business continuity, operational resilience, incident management, enterprise preparedness, instructional design, facilitation, evaluation, improvement planning, or related disciplines, including experience supporting or leading exercise design, facilitation, evaluation, training delivery, after-action reporting, corrective-action tracking, and HSEEP methodology.
