Overview

Conferences and events are a key opportunity to enhance the firm's brand and continue to position Goldman Sachs as a thought leader and convener. A core part of our conference and event strategy is to select speakers whose content can help align with our business strategy and our own thought leadership priorities. Due to the dynamic and evolving nature of our business, the strategy and execution for sourcing content and speakers remains necessarily fluid and requires constant research and relationship management, both internally and externally.

Conferences
  • Prioritize conferences and events using a tiered framework
  • Assist internal teams in crafting an overall objective and scope for their conferences (prioritizing flagship engagements)
  • Advise on content development and speaker opportunities
  • Coordinate leadership participation
  • Maintain tracking and data strategy for internal and external conferences
  • Coordinate cross-divisional events on similar topics for similar audiences
  • Partner with firmwide host teams, stakeholders Events team globally to embed culture and history into select conferences and events
    • Evaluate and implement AI-enabled solutions to support speaker research, profile management, workflow automation, reporting, conference analysis, and operational efficiency initiatives.
    • Identify opportunities to leverage emerging technologies across conference strategy, external speaker engagement, and platform management activities..

Speakers - GS Speakers Bureau

The GS Speakers Bureau will act as a "market-maker" for harnessing the firm's relationships and helping to align the right speaker(s) - internal and external - with the right events and programming, no matter where they originate or are located, optimizing the process, outcomes and ROI.The Bureau will aim to build a deep and diverse bench of internal speakers and subject matter experts the firm can deploy strategically for internal and external events.
  • Sourcing - Compile and centralize lists of internal and external speakers and their areas of expertise and build on these lists, seeking to build an ever-growing roster of diverse talent.
  • Engagement - Develop a consistent set of guidelines around all aspects of this process, including sourcing the right speaker(s) for specific events, engaging with external speakers bureaus and agencies (as needed), and managing contracts, legal/compliance clearance, logistics and payments with external speakers.
  • Optimization - Seek to identify ways to optimize our engagement with speakers and maximize the reach and impact of their messages and content, for example coordinating additional, ancillary sessions/events for select groups, repurposing content for a variety of internal and external channels, etc.
  • Data Management - work with EO Engineering on SEEH, Salesforce, and GS Speakers Bureau enhancing data capture, dashboards, and reporting.

Consulting: Strategy, Content Development, Speaker Vetting and Due Diligence
  • Act as Executive Office representative / voice on content and speakers for all top-tier conferences, signature events (flagship conferences) and special events (10KSB events, etc.)
  • Partner with businesses and host teams to define conference and speaker objectives and priorities for client experience
  • Research relevant and engaging speakers
  • Develop strong relationships with speakers directly or with their exclusive representation (agency)
  • Ensure speakers are drawn from various industries, regions and backgrounds
  • Recommend speakers / create speaker lists for internal groups
  • Provide feedback on speakers submitted by internal groups
  • Confirm the same speakers are not utilized repeatedly
  • Perform due diligence, vet speakers with other groups
  • Obtain approvals / post stakeholders on various teams for external speakers
  • Create, advise on and review session themes, content, speaker questions, etc.
  • Review conference and speaker decks
    • Create and maintain operational documentation, resource libraries, standards, reference materials, internal websites, and knowledge repositories supporting conference and speaker management activities.
    • Maintain speaker engagement resources, Conference resource pages, SEEH resource hubs, and process documentation.

Relationship Management and Negotiation
  • Executive Office liaison with speaker bureaus / agents / representatives / publishers
  • Work with speaker bureaus to identify speakers, check availability, negotiate fees, etc. or work directly with the speaker
  • Look for opportunities to maximize utilization of speakers (e.g. additional roundtable, meet and greet, Talks at GS)
  • Execute book buys for select speakers
  • Confirm a 'Thank You' email goes to the speaker (same day as engagement preferred)

Execution
  • Partner with Events Management Group and Self-Managed event stakeholders on logistics to ensure positive speaker experience
    • Travel, hotel, car service, parking, etc.
  • Confirm platform and A/V setup
  • Create / review / distribute briefing documents for speakers and moderators
  • Provide oversight on room reservations
  • Ensure each speaker has a proper introduction from a senior GS Host and seamless interactions throughout their engagement

Speaker and Event Engagement Hub (SEEH)
  • Approvals: Review all external speaker engagement requests submitted via the Speaker and Event Engagement Hub on behalf of the Executive Office and submit action via eTask
  • Answer any questions from Approver Groups (e.g. Media Relations, Government Affairs, Business Intelligence Group) regarding PERMIT roles, specific speakers, and SES troubleshooting
  • Ongoing System Enhancements
  • Provide input and oversight on recommended enhancements to improve the user experience and approval process for external speakers
  • Manage development and integration of approval process for GS speakers speaking internally and externally (Speakers Bureau)

SEEH Training, Education & Change Management
  • Approvals: Review all external speaker engagement requests submitted via the Speaker and Event Engagement Hub on behalf of the Executive Office and submit action via eTask
  • Answer any questions from Approver Groups (e.g. Media Relations, Government Affairs, Business Intelligence Group) regarding PERMIT roles, specific speakers, and SES troubleshooting

Salary Range
The expected base salary for this New York, NY, United States-based position is $125000-$250000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
