As Executive Manager,Business Governance, Resilience and Third-Party Management, you will lead the governance framework supporting business risk, operational resilience and third party risk across the region. Working closely with business leaders, Risk partners and Group stakeholders, you will help ensure the Americas business operates within a robust and sustainable control environment while meeting regulatory obligations and supporting strategic growth objectives.
You will be responsible for driving governance effectiveness, enhancing risk transparency and strengthening resilience across critical services and external dependencies. This includes translating regulatory requirements into practical outcomes, providing executive level risk insights and influencing decision making across a complex stakeholder environment.
This role offers significant exposure to senior leaders across the Americas and Group, providing the opportunity to shape risk governance practices and contribute to the continued growth of Westpac's international business.
Key Responsibilities Governance & Regulatory Oversight- Lead and continuously improve the Americas operational risk governance framework, including governance forums, reporting, escalation processes and accountability structures.
- Provide executive level reporting on key risks, governance activities, regulatory developments and remediation progress.
- Translate regulatory expectations into practical implementation plans, controls and governance outcomes.
- Drive consistency, transparency and continuous improvement across governance processes.
Operational Resilience- Lead implementation and ongoing enhancement of the Americas operational resilience framework.
- Oversee identification and assessment of important business services, critical processes and key dependencies.
- Coordinate resilience testing activities and monitor remediation actions to strengthen resilience capabilities.
- Provide clear reporting and insight on resilience risks, vulnerabilities and preparedness.
Third Party Risk Management- Lead delivery of the Americas third party risk framework, with particular focus on critical and higher risk suppliers and service providers.
- Oversee risk assessments, due diligence activities, ongoing monitoring and issue management throughout the third party lifecycle.
- Monitor material third party dependencies and concentration risks impacting critical services.
- Ensure material issues are appropriately escalated and addressed through established governance processes.
Regulatory & Stakeholder Engagement- Support regulatory reviews, examinations and change initiatives across operational risk, resilience and third-party risk.
- Partner closely with first line, second line and Group stakeholders to ensure alignment with policy requirements and regulatory expectations.
- Influence and challenge stakeholders to drive effective risk management outcomes across the region.
Continuous Improvement- Identify opportunities to strengthen governance, improve risk visibility and enhance operational resilience capabilities.
- Promote pragmatic, risk-based approaches that support both regulatory compliance and business objectives.

Fixed compensation range for this position is between $180,000 and $220,000 plus bonus.
What do I need?- Demonstrated experience in operational risk, risk governance, operational resilience, third party risk or a related discipline within financial services.
- Strong understanding of US regulatory expectations, including those of the Federal Reserve, OCC and FDIC.
- Experience designing, implementing and enhancing risk governance frameworks and control environments.
- Experience leading resilience, business continuity or third party risk initiatives within a regulated environment.
- Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and deliver outcomes across complex matrix organisations.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to translate complex issues into clear, executive ready insights.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and relationship building skills.
- Ability to balance regulatory requirements with commercial objectives and deliver pragmatic risk management outcomes.
