Description & Requirements

MANTECH seeks a high-impact Executive Director, Transformation & Strategic Initiatives to join the ACHIEVE Office (AO) in Herndon, VA.

Reporting directly to the Chief Acceleration Officer (CAO), you will take end-to-end operational and financial ownership of MANTECH's most critical enterprise-level strategic initiatives. You will assemble cross-functional teams, build business cases, navigate the stage-gate acceleration process, drive change management, and ensure full, on-time, on-budget realization on the P&L.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Own top high-value enterprise initiatives across the full ACHIEVE lifecycle from concept and business case creation to plan finalization, execution, and sustained P&L run-rate realization.
  • Stand up and lead dedicated cross-functional teams across Growth, Operations, Finance, IT, HR, and Business Units to drive milestone execution without direct authority.
  • Build rigorous financial models, ROI projections, and cost-benefit frameworks to justify stage-gate progression and secure CAO, CFO, and Steering Committee approvals.
  • Drive daily initiative velocity, eliminate execution bottlenecks, manage risks, and maintain strict control over budgets and timelines to guarantee planned bottom-line and top-line outcomes.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and change champion across all organizational levels while managing friction, building stakeholder consensus, and driving lasting operational and behavioral shifts.
  • Partner closely with the AO Lead to embed project milestones into Maestro, present progress at weekly reviews, and transparently surface risks for rapid CAO escalation.
  • Perform domestic travel up to 50% of the time as needed to support enterprise initiatives.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of total experience combining management consulting, private equity portfolio operations, or corporate value creation ($100M+ financial impact).
  • Proven track record taking complex strategic initiatives from initial concept through full operational execution and P&L realization.
  • Experience as a former Engagement Manager or Project Leader at a management consulting firm (MBB preferred).
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence with proven ability to influence senior executives, align cross-functional teams, and lead change in complex matrixed environments.
  • Advanced skills in financial modeling, valuation, driver-based P&L management, and operational KPI tracking.


Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA from a Top 20 business school.
  • Prior experience in the government services, defense, or national security sectors.
  • Familiarity with enterprise transformation tracking platforms such as Maestro or Anaplan.
  • Proficiency with advanced analytical tools including Power BI, Tableau, Python, or Generative AI platforms.


Clearance Requirements
  • U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.


Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.


The projected compensation range for this position is $156,800.00-$281,200.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
