Responsibilities

  • Execute the vendor management strategy to meet operational and financial objectives.
  • Manage third party supplier relationships focusing on operational improvements.

The Opportunity

As a dedicated Executive Director, Strategic Account Relationship Manager, you will help drive operational efficiency, organizational value, deliver exceptional customer experience through effective relationship management with key strategic suppliers, and provide a single voice for all DS&A contracts. This position will be responsible for establishing and leading the 3P sourcing framework in support of the overall DS&A strategy.

We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX. Relocation assistance is available for this position.

What you'll do:
  • Executes the vendor management strategy through the effective implementation, management, and optimization of the vendor portfolio to fulfill operational and financial objectives.
  • Manages the integration of assigned third party supplier relationships focusing on operational improvements and the achievement of transformational goals.
  • Collaborates with strategic account partner leadership to develop business plans that achieve shared objectives and financial goals, expanding USAA's revenue and external market share.
  • Consults with key stakeholders to provide subject matter expertise on the business' vendor strategy and portfolio while defining impact to business operations and financials.
  • Manages the analysis of vendor performance data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks, providing key insights and recommendations to support senior leadership's strategic decision-making.
  • Communicate updates to senior executives on financial analysis, trends, performance, and expense management as it relates to the supplier management portfolio.
  • Gathers and analyzes emerging industry and market trends to expand and deepen relationship and develop supplier solutions.
  • Serves as the approval for invoices, ensuring the team has validated and coded expenses accurately, maintaining budget adherence in accordance with contract and business objectives.
  • Leads the development of business cases and recommendations for supplier value management and partner-based solutions.
  • Builds and leads a team of professionals through ongoing execution of recruiting, development, retention, coaching and support, performance management, and managerial activities.
  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.


What you have:
  • Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience.
  • 10 years of progressive relationship management, vendor management, or operations experience in financial services, information technology, or related industry.
  • 4 years of people leadership experience in building, managing and/or developing high-performing teams required.
  • Proven experience successfully creating and/or leading a vendor relationship management program that includes successful negotiation of high value contracts.
  • Subject Matter Expert of supply chain management, relevant industry regulations, and operational risk concepts.
  • Ability to translate the organizational focus and strategic objectives between organizations (internal and third party).
  • Demonstrated aptitude to drive results and change across multiple levels of an organization required.
  • Effective relationship management skills and demonstrated ability to influence decisions at the senior executive leadership levels and key account relationships.
  • Expert in analytics, strategic planning, and project management with demonstrated experience to effectively prioritize multiple priorities.
  • Exceptional communications and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively navigate and mediate conflict and foster honest dialogue.
  • Travel may be required.

Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $169,880-$305,780

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position.

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.

Long Term Incentive Plan: Cash payment for Executive level roles only, representing a cash payment which is both time and performance based.
