Full Job Description
The Executive Director - Plant Manager, for the Decatur Production Operation (DPO) plant will execute the business strategy focused around Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Morale with the DPO team.
The Plant Manager will work to continuously improve the organization as well as standardize where possible with other facilities in the appliance business. Additionally, this role operates in close collaboration with Product Management, Technology, Sourcing, Advanced Manufacturing Engineering, Fulfillment and Central Quality for NPI initiatives as well product delivery.

How You'll Create Possibilities
• Driving EHS objectives, customer fulfillment, TCO/VCP (Total Cost Out/Variable Cost Productivity), and quality using Lean, Total Productive Maintenance, and Six Sigma methodologies and tools.
• Engaging all employees in creating a safe and productive workforce with unyielding integrity and GE Appliances values.
• Meeting key manufacturing metrics, such as schedule achievement, OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) improvement, VLOH (Variable Labor and Over Head) improvement, inventory control, product quality and performance.
• Identifying and driving productivity projects to meet operating plan commitments.
• Strategically planning staffing needs to optimize labor productivity and efficiency.
• Identifying and driving productivity projects to meet operating plan commitments.
• Promoting lean manufacturing/six sigma tools and methodologies to drive continuous process improvements.
• Leading efforts related to standardizing & simplifying processes, reviewing metrics, leading/participating in projects aimed at increasing service levels, productivity, performance, and EHS.
• Energizing, coaching and mentoring hourly employees and lead management staff.
• Working with external service providers to ensure delivery on key processes and projects.
• Working with both external and internal customers on initiatives & projects aimed at driving production efficiencies.
• Drive engagement activities to increase positive employee relations and retention.
What You'll Bring to Our Team
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 10 years of leadership experience, within a large organization
• Demonstrated ability to influence/drive change.
• Proven experience in a manufacturing leadership role, with a focus on appliances or related industries.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, and safety protocols.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills with a track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
• Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and implement best practices.
• Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles and other continuous improvement methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to solve complex technical and process problems.
• Demonstrated ability to work and lead collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment with both hourly and salaried personnel to meet the needs of operator, the program and the business.
• Demonstrated success in fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture that promotes direct employee engagement, effectively minimizing the need for union representation.
