Job Summary

The Executive Director of Undergraduate Admissions and Recruitment serves as Georgia Southern University's lead undergraduate recruitment strategist and operational executive. Reporting directly to the Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management, Admissions, this high-energy, results-oriented leader provides strategic direction and direct oversight for all undergraduate recruitment, admissions application processing, on- and off-campus recruitment events, campus visitations, and orientation touchpoints across all campuses.

Embodying the Division's core values of Service, Collaboration, and Excellence, this leader fosters a relentless growth mindset, instills team accountability, optimizes daily admissions operations, and collaborates across division leadership, Academic Affairs, Financial Aid, Athletics, and University Communications to convert prospective student interest into enrolled Eagle matriculants.

Responsibilities

  • Execute multi-year undergraduate recruitment and market penetration plans that directly achieve annual targets of new undergraduate students and support institutional expansion goals
  • Direct all daily undergraduate admissions operations, file processing workflows, evaluation standards, and territory management to ensure high-speed, frictionless, and customer-centric applicant decision-making
  • Lead the strategy, execution, and continuous evaluation of all undergraduate on-campus and off-campus recruitment events, daily campus visitation experiences, specialized group tours, and orientation touchpoints designed to maximize yield and conversion
  • Provide executive leadership for all domestic, transfer, dual enrollment, adult learner, and military-affiliated undergraduate recruitment initiatives and counselor territory management strategies across all campuses
  • Monitor real-time undergraduate conversion, velocity, and yield metrics across all stages of the admissions funnel; implement immediate tactical course-corrections when regional or population goals lag
  • Drive staff utilization of Technolutions Slate and Ellucian Banner, leveraging operational CRM tools, automated messaging sequences, and counselor workflows to elevate responsiveness and engagement
  • Direct, mentor, and evaluate undergraduate processing, events, and recruitment personnel, establishing measurable performance metrics, processing Service Level Agreements, territory targets, and a growth-oriented team culture
  • Collaborate closely with the Office of Financial Aid on dynamic scholarship leveraging, financial aid award communications, and targeted yield tactics to optimize net tuition revenue and enrollment outcomes
  • Oversee undergraduate admissions policies to ensure compliance with University System of Georgia (USG), state, federal, and accreditation standards, while managing NCAA recruitment compliance for incoming student-athletes
  • Provide direct oversight of the undergraduate admissions, events, processing, and recruitment operational budgets, managing travel allocations, event spending, and personnel resources to maximize ROI


Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution

Other Required Qualifications
  • An appreciation for the cyclical nature of admission work and the flexibility to handle a variety of duties and projects throughout the day as well as throughout the year including weekend work

Required Experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible higher education leadership experience in undergraduate admissions, recruitment, events or enrollment management
  • At least three (3) years of direct supervisory experience leading fast-paced teams
  • Demonstrated track record of driving measurable, multi-year undergraduate enrollment growth
  • Hands-on experience utilizing enterprise CRM tools and Student Information Systems


Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Educational Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Higher Education, Business Administration, Leadership, or a related field

Preferred Experience
  • Leadership experience within a large public university system or an institution targeting R1/R2 research expansion
  • Deep expertise in dynamic financial aid leveraging, net tuition revenue strategy, and predictive funnel modeling


Proposed Salary

$100,000 - $115,000

This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.
