The Dean's Office in the College of Medicine is recruiting a full-time Executive Director of Operations to direct and coordinate enterprise operational, administrative, analytical and strategic initiatives for the College of Medicine (COM) and UC Physicians, Inc. (UCP). Reporting to the Associate Dean of Operations and Chief Operating Officer of UCP, the position will work across the COM Dean's Office, UCP and UC Health to translate leadership priorities into accountable execution and serve as a resource for department business leaders on clinical operations, access, productivity, effort expectations and major projects.
Essential Functions- Provide interim Executive Director of Business Administration coverage to maintain leadership continuity and execution of critical business functions.
- Manage the administrative and operational activities of defined projects for the COM and UCP as assigned by Operations leadership; establish work plans, coordinate stakeholders, monitor milestones and risks, and drive major projects through execution.
- Staff recruitment committees and related operational work, including coordinating materials and follow-up, reviewing Faculty Recruitment System (FRS) submissions, and developing and validating detailed clinical full-time equivalent (cFTE) targets and effort expectations.
- Participate in and manage activities for enterprise committees as assigned.
- Lead and coordinate access improvement work across clinical programs, using operational data and stakeholder input to identify constraints, prioritize interventions and monitor results.
- Manage the operational rollout of the Organizational Performance Management System (OPMS), including translating priorities into operational measures, coordinating implementation and supporting performance review routines.
- Develop and oversee operational reporting using Tableau, Power BI, Epic and other available systems; establish reliable measures, communicate trends and support leadership decision-making.
- Identify productivity opportunities and operational performance gaps; partner with departments and enterprise leaders to validate findings, define actions and monitor improvement.
- Lead the operational response to budget constraints by evaluating service, staffing, access and workflow implications; develop practical options and execute approved mitigation plans.
- Implement approved funds-flow and resource allocation changes operationally, coordinating affected units, defining responsibilities, updating workflows and monitoring outcomes.
- Validate faculty and staff effort expectations, cFTE assumptions and operational commitments in collaboration with department and enterprise leaders, and escalate material variances for resolution.
- Develop policies, procedures, guidelines and standard work as needed to support consistent, compliant and effective operations across assigned areas.
- Manage business and project staff assigned to support areas within the Dean's Office; establish priorities, provide supervision and develop team capability.
- Serve as an expert resource to others; may serve on committees and special projects.

Required Education- Bachelor's degree required.
Required Trainings/CertificationsRequired Experience- Ten (10) years of relevant work experience.
- Four (4) years of supervisory experience.
Additional Qualifications Considered- Experience in a medical school, university, or healthcare organization.
- MBA.
