JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION: Executive Director of Operational Performance
QUALIFICATIONS: Degree in Facility Management, Finance, Education, or Administration with strong school experience.
REPORTS TO: Chief Financial Officer
Salary Range: [$119,915 - $132,552]
ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist the CFO and Director of Business in identifying and establishing department goals and objectives and in developing strategies and feasibility plans to ensure the achievement of the mission of Hamilton Southeastern Schools.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Financial Officer.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Supervise the Directors of Transportation, Nutrition and Food Services, Facilities, and Infrastructure Technology in all initiatives within their departments.
• Serve as a financial advisor to the operational department directors above by providing analysis, recommendations, and decision-support tools.
• Review monthly financial reports and identify trends, budget variances, and opportunities for improved fiscal performance.
• Collaborate with department leaders to develop annual operating and capital spending plans aligned with district priorities including the 10-year plan.
• Collaborate with department leaders to evaluate new initiatives, programs, and operational improvements.
• Participate in strategic planning initiatives related to district operations, financial sustainability, and cost-effective alternatives.
• Conduct operational reviews to identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and service enhancements.
• Analyze staffing models, utilization rates, fleet operations, facility maintenance costs, utility consumption, and other operational metrics.
• Review operational purchasing practices to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local purchasing laws, policies, and procedures while maximizing purchasing efficiencies.
• Monitor service contracts and recommend opportunities for consolidation, rebidding, or improved service delivery.
• Assist with the financial monitoring of construction, renovation, and capital projects.
• Support the processing of workers comp claims. Lead the district's efforts on loss prevention training and strategies.
• Assist with internal and external audits involving operational departments.
• Review operational processes to strengthen internal controls and reduce financial risk.
• Support grant management and compliance activities related to operational funding sources.
• Provide support as necessary for the use and scheduling of district facilities.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, accountability, and customer service across all operational departments.
