Job Description:The Executive Director of Advising Services is responsible for providing leadership, guidance, and supervision to all advising services and programs at Massasoit Community College.
Essential Functions:- Supervises the College's advising programs, including the ACT Center, CHOICES Program, Latch Program, SUCCESS Scholars Program, and TRiO Programs, across all locations;
- Leads the planning, delivery, and ongoing assessment of the College's advising services and programs and ensures that they support the College's strategic plan, mission, and goals;
- Ensures area operations are consistent and align with established standards and best practices; engages with supervisor in long-term planning;
- Implements and maintains technology solutions to enhance operations and support area goals and College's strategic plan, in collaboration with Massasoit's Office of Information Technology Services
- Serves as a liaison between advising services and Enrollment Management, in collaboration with Executive Director of Enrollment Management;
- Develops and maintains collaborations with faculty and staff to promote advising to students; promotes advising to students and other areas of the college;
- Conducts staff meetings and performance evaluations, promotes a culture of exceptional customer service, and facilitates staff professional development;
- Prepares and manages the annual operational budgets for advising services; participates in writing of grant proposals and administers grants, in collaboration with Grants Department;
- Represents the college's advising services and programs at on- and off-site Student Services & Enrollment Management events and programs;
- Serves as a key escalation point for resolving student issues related to advising programs;
- Maintains professional knowledge and stays current with emerging trends, technology, and best practices in advising through professional development and industry engagement;
- Reports to the Vice President of Student Services and Enrollment Management and serves on the division's leadership team;
- Focuses on the Commonwealth's Equity Agenda by applying related best practices throughout all job functions;
- Serves on the college's Onboarding and CARE teams;
- Serves on other college committees, as assigned by supervisor;
- Other duties, as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements:Required:- Master's degree in field of education, counseling, or related field;
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressively increasing professional experience that includes experience(s) working in a higher-education advising program;
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience working in a post-secondary setting;
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a professional supervisory capacity
Preferred:- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a professional supervisory capacity
- Demonstrated experience with EAB Navigate360;
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student body;
- Demonstrated experience managing a budget;
- Demonstrated experience working in a community college setting;
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal and oral and written communication skills.
Additional Information:Position Status: Non-Unit Professional, Full-Time State Funded with Benefits.
Hours: 37.5
Salary: $120,068.71 to $156,087.93
