Job DescriptionThe Executive Director-HIM Services & Revenue Integrity is responsible for directing and administering all activities of the Health Information Management departments and coordinates the department's functions in accordance with accepted standards and administrative policies. This position is responsible for directing the release of information for Baptist Hospital and Physician Enterprise. This position is responsible for the coding and compliance function across Baptist Health Care: Acute and Physician Enterprise. The Executive Director-HIM Services & Revenue Integrity directs and administers all activities of the Corporate Revenue Integrity department and coordinates the department's functions in accordance with accepted standards and administrative policies. This position determines fiscal/budgetary requirements and prepares departmental budgets for all departments, in addition monitors/verifies/reconciles expenditures of allocated funds.
Responsibilities- Directs and administers all activities of the Health Information Management departments and coordinates the department's functions in accordance with accepted standards and administrative policies.
- Manages the Release of Information process for Baptist Hospital and Physician Enterprise.
- Maintains responsibility for the Coding and Compliance function across Baptist Health Care: Acute and Physician Enterprise.
- Directs and administers all activities of the Corporate Revenue Integrity department and coordinates the department's functions in accordance with accepted standards and administrative policies.
- Develops policies and procedures for standardization, control, and regulated use of medical information and its availability to users.
- Coordinates activities with the medical staff, administration, committees, and department to meet requirements of DNV for Hospitals and those of Professional Standards Review Organization.
- Identifies case mix issues and develops plans for improvement or corrective action. Ensures the optimization of medical records data while complying with third party payors.
- Attains all agreed to goals and objectives within specified time frames, as part of the organization's overall mission.
- Manages team members which include orientation, development and evaluation of personnel, and monitoring the provision of delivering quality services. Participates in the recruiting, interviewing and selecting of team members following policies, guidelines and applicable laws. Evaluates their performance relative to job goals and requirements. Provides coaching to staff, recommends in-service education programs, and ensures adherence to internal policies and standards.
- Maintains responsibility for the fiscal management of department; assures proper utilization of organization's financial resources.
- Maintains responsibility for department's operational excellence; ensures department delivers quality services in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, and professional standards.
- Effectively communicates departmental, organization, and industry information to staff.
QualificationsEducationBachelor's Degree Health Care Management or related field required.
Work Experience- 7 Years of experience of management responsibility in a health information management and revenue integrity required.
- Experience in administrative and staff management required.
- Experience in project management required.
Licenses and CertificationsOne of the following required upon hire:
- Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA_AHIMA) or
- Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT_AHIMA) or
- Certified Coding Specialist (CCS_AHIMA)
