Full Job Description
Scope of Position:

The Executive Director (President) is responsible for leading and directing the overall formation, implementation, and management of the clinically integrated network (CIN). In this role the President guides the development of organization strategy, and has overall responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the organization. The incumbent will serve the critical leadership role of championing the program and its goals with internal and external stakeholder groups.

Embedded in these responsibilities is the ability to lead a significant cultural transformation process across the organization by working with various constituents including employed and independent physicians, payers, area providers, regional regulatory agencies and Board leadership.

This position reports to the board and/or health system's CEO. Direct reports include members of the CIN executive team, such as the lead executives for medical management, population health, payer relations/contracting, information technology, and other key program executives.
Responsibilities:
  • Creates a shared and strategically sustainable vision for the CIN/population health management program
  • Manages board and system relations
  • Selects and oversees management teams to drive program performance
  • Develops a provider network to support the program through selective provider participation and recruitment
  • Engages with governmental and commercial payers to develop value-based contracts
  • Oversees the development and operation of information technology and other infrastructure components to drive program performance by which to accomplish and demonstrate accountability in the areas of clinical outcomes, patient experience and cost effectiveness
  • Ensures that program measures, performance targets, administrative procedures and incentive distribution designs are adequate, equitable and effective in driving program outcomes and achieving organizational strategies
  • Ensure appropriate patient outreach, education and other "activation" components are designed into the organization's approaches to driving value creation
  • Builds medical leadership across the organization to promote CI and drive program performance
  • Builds and maintains relationships with external constituents including payers, employers and business coalitions, state and local agencies/associations, and national policy groups
  • Oversees the development of a comprehensive communications/education strategy for internal and external audiences.
Qualifications:
    • Advanced degree plus (MHA, MBA,MPH)
    • 5 - 10 years of senior level healthcare operations management experience preferably with managed care organizations, large organized physician groups or integrated delivery systems
    • Demonstrated strategic planning expertise with knowledge of current healthcare regulatory and policy requirements
    • Experience with population health management analytics and metrics
    • High level knowledge of HIT requirements to support CI programs
    • Strong team leadership and consensus building skills
    • Demonstrated physician and Board level communications skills
