Description:
The Executive Director for Executive Education (College) provides strategic planning and executive management of non-degree-credit programs that leverage the thought leadership of College faculty. This includes facilitation of open enrollment programs for the general public, as well as custom program development for companies locally in Houston, nationally, and globally. This job is exclusive to the Academic Affairs Division.
1. Develops strategic plans, markets and implements executive education programs related to a variety of topics in professional business administration.
2. Works collaboratively with leadership in other college units including Career Services, Corporate Partnerships and Alumni Relations to ensure that employer, alumni, and executive education opportunities are shared across functions to maximize institutional impact, strengthen long-term partnerships, and present a unified College approach to external engagement.
3. Creates bespoke executive education offerings for client companies, identifying custom curricular components, negotiating pricing and facilitating contractual agreements.
4. Coordinates with academic department chairs to cultivate custom curriculum and source instructors tailored to corporate client needs.
5. Designs and implements open enrollment programs and course offerings in consultation with Bauer faculty to identify targeted niches and leading-edge topics for various industries.
6. Ensures effective delivery of programs through multiple modalities as needed, including on-site, off-site, hybrid and remote options.
7. Directly supervises staff department responsible for logistics, operations and client, faculty & student support in executive education programs.
8. Builds meaningful relationships with large organizations, such that the College is the provider of choice for executive education needs.
9. Leverages non-degree-credit programs as a pipeline to degree programs, particularly Executive masters, Executive doctorate and other specialized degree programs offered by the College.
10. Represents the College of Business and University of Houston at internal and external events and serves on division and university-wide committees as assigned.
11. Performs other job-related duties as required.
