Full Job Description
The Executive Director is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and operational management of a multi-specialty physician group. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective patient care while optimizing financial performance, physician engagement, and organizational growth. The Executive Director works closely with physician leaders, administrative staff, and external partners to advance the group's mission and long-term sustainability.

Essential Functions
  • Develop and execute the organization's strategic plan in alignment with physician leadership and the Board
  • Identify growth opportunities including service line expansion, partnerships, and new market entry
  • Monitor healthcare trends, regulatory changes, and competitive dynamics
  • Oversee day-to-day operations across all specialties, ensuring efficiency, quality, and patient satisfaction
  • Implement best practices in clinical operations, workflow optimization, and care delivery models
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations
  • Develop and manage annual budgets, financial forecasts, and performance metrics
  • Drive revenue cycle optimization, cost containment, and profitability

Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field strongly preferred
  • 8-12+ years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare management
  • Experience in physician group practice management, preferably multi-specialty

Total Rewards
The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of Chesapeake Specialty Care salary range for this position. Some candidates will not be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, market conditions, internal equity, responsibility factor and span of control, education/training and other qualifications.
