Title:

Executive Assistant - President of Defense & Intel

KBR is seeking a highly skilled, proactive, and strategically minded Executive Assistant to support the President of Defense & Intel in Chantilly, VA. This role requires a trusted partner who can operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment while managing competing priorities, facilitating executive decision-making, and ensuring seamless execution of business objectives. This position extends well beyond traditional executive support and requires an individual who thrives in environments characterized by complexity, urgency, and organizational impact.

In this critical role, you will serve as a strategic force multiplier for the President and broader leadership team, enabling effective execution of priorities through proactive planning, executive readiness, stakeholder coordination, and disciplined follow-through. The ideal candidate brings exceptional judgment, business acumen, executive presence, and the ability to manage sensitive information with the highest degree of discretion and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Support & Executive Prioritization: Serve as a trusted partner to the President by managing priorities, anticipating needs, and ensuring alignment across internal and external commitments while optimizing executive focus and decision-making.

  • Calendar, Operating Rhythm & Meeting Management: Manage complex, high-volume executive calendars, coordinate competing priorities, and maintain the leadership operating cadence, including staff meetings, leadership forums, business reviews, and strategic engagements.

  • Executive Readiness & Briefing Preparation: Prepare high-quality agendas, briefing materials, talking points, read-ahead packages, and executive communications to ensure leadership is fully prepared for internal and external engagements.

  • Strategic Travel & Logistics Management: Coordinate complex domestic and international travel, executive visits, and high-touch leadership engagements while proactively managing changes, contingencies, security considerations, expenses, and logistical requirements.

  • Action Management & Execution: Track strategic initiatives, key deliverables, action items, and follow-up commitments to ensure timely completion, accountability, and alignment across leadership teams.

  • Stakeholder Engagement & Communications: Serve as a primary liaison between the President, executive leadership, functional organizations, and external stakeholders, ensuring effective communication flow and professional executive representation.

  • Leadership Events & Executive Engagements: Plan and execute leadership meetings, customer engagements, executive visits, off-sites, and confidential events while ensuring flawless coordination and execution.

  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Partner closely with Finance, HR, Communications, Security, Legal, Contracts, PP&C, and other leadership stakeholders to facilitate information flow and execution of business priorities.

  • Decision Support & Situational Awareness: Maintain awareness of leadership priorities, organizational developments, and emerging issues while proactively identifying risks, dependencies, and opportunities to support informed decision-making.

  • Confidentiality & Executive Discretion: Handle highly sensitive business, personnel, customer, and strategic information with exceptional judgment, professionalism, and confidentiality.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience supporting senior executives or executive leadership teams within a complex corporate environment.

  • Demonstrated experience managing complex calendars, executive logistics, leadership engagements, and competing priorities.

  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong executive presence.

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Copilot-enabled productivity tools.

  • Proven ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, and professionalism in handling sensitive and confidential information.

  • Strong stakeholder management, relationship-building, and cross-functional coordination skills.

  • Proactive, resourceful, and solutions-oriented with the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain required background screening requirements for a Position of Substantial Authority.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting C-suite executives, presidents, or senior business leaders.

  • Experience supporting defense, intelligence, government contracting, or national security organizations.

  • Familiarity with executive operating rhythms, leadership governance processes, and strategic planning activities.

  • Experience coordinating executive-level customer engagements, leadership forums, and high-visibility events.

  • Knowledge of classified or government environments and associated coordination requirements.

  • Experience using enterprise tools such as SharePoint, Workday, SAP, Costpoint, Concur, or similar business systems.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage executive workflows, projects, and cross-functional initiatives.

  • Experience operating in a global or highly matrixed organization.

Basic Compensation:  $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 USD Annual

 

This range is for the VA area only 

  

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity. 

  

Additional Compensation: 

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
