Position Summary

Join athenahealth as an Executive Assistant supporting the Chief Customer Officer (CCO) and a Vice President within the Customer Success organization. In this role, you will provide strategic administrative and operational support, manage executive priorities, coordinate leadership team activities, and help drive organizational effectiveness across Customer Success and key business partners. You will leverage technology and AI-enabled tools to improve workflows, streamline operations, and support executive decision-making. This is a hybrid position based in Boston, MA, with an expectation of approximately two days per week in the office. This role reports to the Chief Customer Officer.

Essential Job Responsibilities
  • Manage complex calendars for the Chief Customer Officer and a Vice President, aligning schedules with organizational priorities, customer commitments, and business objectives.
  • Coordinate leadership meetings, business reviews, planning sessions, and other recurring operational activities for the Customer Success leadership team.
  • Prepare meeting materials, agendas, and executive briefings to support informed decision-making and meeting readiness.
  • Track action items, commitments, deadlines, and dependencies to ensure timely follow-through on strategic initiatives.
  • Facilitate coordination across Customer Success and cross-functional business partners to support organizational goals.
  • Arrange domestic and international travel, including itineraries, accommodations, and meeting logistics.
  • Process expense reports, invoices, and other administrative activities accurately and efficiently.
  • Support executive communications by coordinating materials, information, and stakeholder updates.
  • Develop and maintain systems that improve visibility into priorities, decisions, and ongoing work.
  • Utilize AI, automation, and productivity tools to improve operational efficiency, enhance workflow quality, and identify opportunities for process improvement while maintaining appropriate confidentiality and data handling practices.


Additional Job Responsibilities
  • Coordinate customer meetings, executive events, off-sites, and organization-wide engagements.
  • Research, prioritize, and help coordinate responses to incoming requests and business needs.
  • Support internal communications efforts in partnership with Communications and other stakeholders.
  • Create and maintain documentation, tracking tools, and organizational resources.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify workflows and improve team effectiveness.
  • Share best practices related to technology, automation, and productivity tools with colleagues.
  • Complete additional projects and assignments in support of leadership and organizational priorities.


Expected Education & Experience

Required Qualifications
  • Five or more years of Executive Assistant experience supporting C-suite or senior executives.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting multiple senior leaders while managing competing priorities.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and coordination skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively across organizational levels.
  • Experience managing confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
  • Experience using AI, automation, or productivity technologies to improve work quality and efficiency.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams and meet deadlines in a dynamic business environment.
  • Strong problem-solving, prioritization, and relationship-management skills.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant professional experience.
  • Experience supporting executives within healthcare, healthcare technology, or SaaS organizations.
  • Project management certification or formal project management training.
  • Experience implementing process improvements and operational efficiencies.
  • Experience coordinating executive-level events, customer engagements, and leadership meetings.
  • Interest in learning and applying emerging technologies and productivity tools.


Expected Compensation
$67,000 - $115,000
The base salary range shown reflects the full range for this role from minimum to maximum. At athenahealth, base pay depends on multiple factors, including job-related experience, relevant knowledge and skills, how your qualifications compare to others in similar roles, and geographical market rates. Base pay is only one part of our competitive Total Rewards package - depending on role eligibility, we offer both short and long-term incentives by way of an annual discretionary bonus plan, variable compensation plan, and equity plans.
