EVP, ENGINEERINGJob SummaryThe EVP, Engineering is responsible for leading GenWay's engineering strategy related to automation, artificial intelligence integrations, guided workflows, and LOS-supported technology solutions. This role oversees the design, creation, implementation, and maintenance of AI-enabled workflows, bots, and automation tools that improve operational efficiency, scalability, and user experience across all lending processes.
Job Duties- Lead the company's engineering strategy for automation, artificial intelligence integrations, guided workflows, bots, host engines, and LOS-supported technology solutions.
- Oversee the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of intelligent automation workflows within Encompass and other mortgage technology platforms.
- Serves as the primary executive relationship owner for third party relationships, such as Tavant. Including the oversight of implementation efforts, workflow enhancements, issue resolution, vendor accountability, and long-term platform optimization.
- Develop and maintain scalable automation frameworks designed to improve efficiency, reduce manual work, improve data accuracy, and support guided mortgage workflows.
- Lead the creation, testing, deployment, and optimization of bots, AI integrations, host engines, APIs, and system-to-system workflow connections.
- Partner with Operations, Sales, Compliance, IT, Underwriting, Secondary Marketing, and Executive leadership to gather requirements and convert business needs into technical solutions.
- Identify workflow gaps, process inefficiencies, and automation opportunities across the wholesale mortgage lifecycle.
- Establish engineering standards, documentation practices, quality control processes, and governance for automation and AI-enables workflow development.
- Ensure automation and integration solutions are secure, scalable, compliant, and aligned with company policies, regulatory requirements, and business objectives.
- Monitor performance of automated workflows and third-party integrations, recommending improvements and enhancements as business needs evolve.
- Lead project planning and prioritization for engineering initiatives, vendor implementations, platform enhancements, and automation roadmap items.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to internal team members, vendors, consultants, and development resources in automation and integration projects.
- Maintain awareness of emerging AI, automation, mortgage technology, and workflow engineering trends to support continued innovation and operational scalability.
- Communicate project status, risks, timelines, vendor performance, and technology recommendations to Executive leadership.

Work EnvironmentIn-Office: This role operates in a professional office setting and requires regular on-site attendance. Employees in this position will use standard office equipment including a company-issued computer, headset, and webcam, along with access to printers, copiers, and other shared resources.
Minimum Qualifications- Significant experience in engineering, software development, automation engineering, system integration, or related technology leadership role.
- Demonstrated experience designing, building, implementing, or managing automation workflows, AI integrations, bots, APIs, host engines, or workflow orchestration tools.
- Prior experience working with mortgage technology platforms, loan origination systems (LOS), or complex enterprise workflow systems.
- Experience managing third-party technology vendors, implementation partners, or software development partners.
- Strong understanding of system integration concepts, software development lifecycles, data workflows, and enterprise technology architecture.
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives involving Operations, Sales, Compliance, IT, Executive leadership, and external vendors.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage multiple complex initiatives, competing priorities, vendor deliverables, and business-critical technology projects.
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence, guide, and align stakeholders across the organization.
Preferred Qualifications- Prior experience with Encompass LOS or other mortgage loan origination systems.
- Prior experience working with Tavant or similar mortgage automation/workflow technology providers.
- Experience in wholesale mortgage lending, correspondent lending, or residential mortgage operations.
- Experience developing or managing AI-enabled guided workflows within a mortgage lending environment.
- Hands-on coding, scripting, API development, bot engineering, or workflow automation experience.
- Familiarity with compliance, data security, audit, and regulatory considerations within mortgage lending technology environments.
- Experience building or leading engineering, automation, business systems, or technology implementation teams.
- Executive-level experience managing technology roadmaps, vendor strategy, budgets, and enterprise system priorities.
