EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Job Summary

The Executive Director is responsible for the overall leadership, growth, and profitability of an assigned mortgage lending brand operating within GenWay's portfolio of Wholesale and/or Correspondent business. Acting as the senior leader and primary ambassador of the brand, this role is accountable for driving sales production, broker acquisition and retention, market expansion and financial performance while aligning business activities with corporate objectives and operational standards.

Job Duties

Leadership & Business Management
  • Lead the overall business strategy, growth initiatives, and performance of an assigned lending brand.
  • Maintain accountability for the brand's production volume, revenue generation, profitability, and achievement of established business objectives.
  • Develop and execute annual business plans, sales strategies, and growth initiatives designed to increase market share and brand presence.
  • Analyze production, financial, and operational performance metrics to identify trends, opportunities, and areas requiring corrective action.
  • Provide regular business updates, forecasts, and strategic recommendations to the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Leadership team.
  • Manage the brand's profit and loss performance, including revenue growth, expense management, and overall financial results.

Sales Leadership & Talent Development
  • Recruit, hire, develop, and retain top-performing sales professionals in partnership with corporate leadership.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor Account Executives, Account Managers, and other team members associated with the brand.
  • Establish performance expectations, accountability measures, and professional development opportunities that promote a high-performance culture.
  • Drive sales activity, pipeline development, and production growth through effective leadership and strategic execution.
  • Foster a culture centered on customer service, collaboration, integrity, accountability, and results.

Broker & Industry Relationship Management
  • Serve as the primary representative and public-facing leader of the assigned brand.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with mortgage brokers, strategic partners, and industry professionals to support business growth and customer retention.
  • Represent the brand at industry events, conferences, trade shows, and networking opportunities.
  • Identify market opportunities and emerging trends to strengthen competitive positioning and expand market presence.
  • Work collaboratively with marketing teams to support brand awareness initiatives, broker engagement strategies, and sales campaigns.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Operations, Underwriting, Capital Markets, Compliance, Secondary Marketing, and other corporate departments to ensure an exceptional broker and customer experience.
  • Advocate for the needs of brokers and sales teams while supporting enterprise-wide objectives and organizational initiatives.
  • Collaborate with corporate leadership on organizational planning, staffing strategies, and business expansion efforts.
  • Support the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and best practices that enhance operational efficiency and scalability.
  • Oversee operational support personnel assigned to the brand, as applicable.

Compliance & Risk Management
  • Ensure adherence to all company policies and applicable federal, state, agency, investor, and regulatory requirements.
  • Promote ethical business practices and maintain a culture of compliance throughout the organization.
  • Support risk management and quality control initiatives designed to protect the organization and its customers.

Work Environment

Remote: This role is fully remote and performed from the employee's home or another approved off-site location. The company provides essential equipment such as computer, headset and webcam. A reliable internet connection and a quiet, professional workspace are expected. Travel will occasionally be required for this role.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in the mortgage industry, with significant experience to wholesale or correspondent mortgage lending.
  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience managing sales teams, business units, or mortgage production organizations.
  • Demonstrated experience developing, coaching, and leading high-performing sales teams.
  • Proven ability to drive production growth, establish business development strategies, and achieve performance objectives.
  • Experience recruiting, hiring, and onboarding team members to a fast-paced sales environment.
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Loan Origination Systems, mortgage technology platforms, CRM systems, Microsoft Office applications, and other business-related software.
  • Ability to travel as needed to support business development, recruitment, industry events, and customer engagement activities.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, or related experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in the mortgage industry with substantial experience in wholesale or correspondent lending.
  • Experience leading a mortgage sales branch, division, business unit, or mortgage brand with responsibility for growth and performance outcomes.
  • Demonstrated success managing or contributing to a profit and loss (P&L) structure and achieving financial performance objectives.
  • Advanced knowledge or mortgage industry trends, competitive market dynamics, and broker channel best practices.
  • Experience developing and executing strategic growth plans, market expansion initiatives, and talent acquisition strategies.
  • Experience supporting multi-state sales organizations and geographically dispersed teams.
