Full Job Description
Principal Product Manager, Practice Operations - DrChrono

What you own

  • The DrChrono outcome: reduce administrative time per visit from ~8 minutes to

  • The core workflows around the visit: Message Center, patient portal, scheduling, intake, reminders, follow-up, and administrative task management.

  • The product strategy, sequencing, and quality bar for reducing practice burden across these workflows.

  • The measurement system that proves whether we are actually saving time.

What you'll do

  • Lead discovery with DrChrono practices to understand where work gets stuck, where staff lose time, and where patients can self-serve.

  • Reimagine the Message Center so teams can prioritize, route, respond, and close the loop faster.

  • Help deliver a modern patient portal that reduces calls, messages, manual intake, and routine front-office work.

  • Improve scheduling and administrative workflows so common tasks are simpler, faster, and more automated.

  • Partner deeply with design and engineering to shape product bets, write crisp requirements, define acceptance criteria, and test real workflows.

  • Use data and customer evidence to identify the highest-leverage opportunities, not just the loudest requests.

  • Align support, implementation, sales, and customer success so launches are understood, adopted, and measurable.

  • Establish clear metrics: administrative minutes per visit, message resolution time, portal adoption, scheduling conversion, task completion time, support burden, and staff satisfaction.

How you'll be measured

  • Administrative burden reduced from ~8 minutes per visit to under 4.

  • Faster message triage, routing, response, and resolution.

  • Higher patient portal adoption and more routine work completed without staff intervention.

  • Scheduling and admin workflows require fewer clicks, fewer handoffs, and fewer workarounds.

  • Product teams have clearer problems, stronger requirements, better testing, and fewer late surprises.

  • DrChrono customers feel the operational lift in their day-to-day practice.

What we're looking for

  • A strong product leader who thinks in workflows, outcomes, and systems.

  • Someone who understands that great healthcare software reduces work, not just digitizes it.

  • Excellent customer discovery instincts and the ability to separate symptoms from root causes.

  • Strong product mechanics: strategy, sequencing, requirements, acceptance criteria, validation, and launch quality.

  • Ability to influence across product, engineering, design, support, implementation, and GTM.

  • High standards, low ego, and a bias toward measurable customer impact.

What great looks like

DrChrono practices feel like the product is taking work off their plate. Messages are easier to manage. Patients handle more on their own. Scheduling is cleaner. Routine administrative work is faster, smarter, and more automated.

The team is not celebrating shipped features. The team is celebrating time returned to the practice.
