Full Job Description
The ETF Capital Markets Specialist supports the execution, trading, and sales enablement activities across Vanguard's ETF platform, with a focus on enhancing market quality and client outcomes. This role provides critical oversight of primary and secondary market dynamics while partnering closely with internal teams and external market participants to ensure efficient trading, liquidity, and product success.

The Specialist also contributes to strategic projects and product initiatives across Canada, Latin America, and offshore markets, helping expand Vanguard's global ETF capabilities. This position plays a key role in scaling coverage and improving engagement as regional ETF activity continues to grow.

This Hybrid Role (in office Tues-Wed-Thurs) is based in Toronto, ON

Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and analyze primary and secondary ETF market activity to support trading efficiency, liquidity, and price integrity
  • Partner with trading and sales teams to provide insights, support execution strategies, and respond to client and FAS inquiries
  • Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including market makers, authorized participants (APs), and exchanges
  • Support Canada-focused ETF capital markets activities, including oversight, market engagement, and product execution initiatives
  • Contribute to key product launches and changes, including fixed income, emerging markets, and index-based ETFs
  • Provide secondary market oversight for cross-listed ETFs across Latin America and offshore regions
  • Collaborate with sales teams to educate clients on ETF trading, including UCITS structures and switch trade execution
  • Engage with regional exchanges (e.g., Mexico) to support ongoing market structure development and efficiency improvements
  • Partner with global ETF Capital Markets teams to coordinate coverage and ensure alignment across regions
  • Analyze trends and deliver insights that inform product development, market strategy, and operational enhancements


Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
Experience in capital markets, ETF trading, product management, or a related financial services discipline

Strong understanding of ETF ecosystem, including primary/secondary markets, liquidity providers, and exchange dynamics

Demonstrated ability to analyze market data and translate insights into actionable recommendations

Effective communicator with experience collaborating across trading, sales, and external partners

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and contribute to complex initiatives

Intellectual curiosity and a continuous improvement mindset

Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus.

UCITS experience a plus.

Pay Transparency

Expected Salary Range: $93k-$169k

Role status: existing vacancy

Our compensation ranges are based on role, level, and local market. Individual pay within the range is determined by factors such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. For part-time roles, pay will be pro-rated based on regularly scheduled hours.
