Overview

Shimmick is seeking a talented Estimator to be based in our Suisun City, CA, Irvine, CA locations or in Dallas, TX. This challenging position will provide excellent growth opportunity while supporting complex civil infrastructure projects across Shimmick's expanding footprint. 

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Works with the Company estimating systems and processes.
  • Acquire basic level of understanding of estimating terminology, measures, concepts and principles for preparing estimates.
  • Recognizes how various processes/project actions and assumptions may impact estimates.
  • Under supervision prepares bid packages, conceptual estimates and analysis of subcontractor bids, etc. for projects.
  • Performs duties with limited complexity under direct supervision, such as material take offs, compilation of historical data, etc.
  • Expected to assist in the preparation of larger and more complex estimating assignments including the Estimate Plan.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field + 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Rail, Transit, or Water/Wastewater construction projects.
  • Knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and consistent attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage changing deadlines and work well under pressure for multiple team leaders.
  • Work independently and effectively to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Highly organized with excellent time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills.

Additional Information:

The salary range for this position is between $90,000 - $125,000 per year depending on experience and/or education.
