Who are you?

You are an experienced Estimator with 3-5 years post-graduate experience in cost planning and estimating looking for the next step, or are currently undertaking a similar role in a similar environment and looking to join a growing and dynamic team. You have experience preparing reports for Energy & Natural Resource & Mining projects.

Job Description

As an Estimator, you will be involved in:
  • Preparing Construction Cost Estimate reports at all stages of design for Energy & Natural Resource & Mining projects. The estimates are industrial type work projects within Alberta and nationally as required.
  • Produce estimates, taking ownership of them and presenting the final cost plan/estimate to the department lead.
  • Applying Value Management techniques at the outset of a project and where appropriate
  • Ensuring that cost analysis, cost checking and valuation work is managed effectively
  • Participating on basic project and financial management responsibilities such as timesheets ,free tracking, invoice preparation etc.


Qualifications
  • 3- 5 years' experience delivering pre-construction and post contract construction cost services
  • A recognized University Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field
  • Membership of Relevant Professional Organizations such as the Canadian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (CIQS); The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS); and/or Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering (AACE)
  • Piping and or pipeline experience is an asset
  • Fabrication & Module experience is an asset
  • Experience of working in a consultancy or owner organization.
  • Experience of working in the Canadian construction market.
  • Experienced user of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of and experience using InEight & Aspentech software is an asset
