Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and rewrite sub-contractor quotes post-bid acceptance.
  • Track project success and identify challenges while networking with sub-trades.
  • Manage the distribution of sub-trade quotes, highlighting risks in bid pricing.
  • Maintain updated databases of labor rates, material costs, and project expenses.

Full Job Description
You as an Estimator will:

  • Confidently lead a team through the completion of a bid process under pressure while building strong relationships with sub-trades
  • Assemble accurate, timely and well organized estimates, including hard-bid, construction management and design-build
  • Organize sub-contractor quotes when the bid is successful, re-writing binders and assisting the buy-out process
  • Monitor the success of a project, noting potential challenges and building relationships with sub-trades for future opportunities
  • Distribute sub-trade quotes to personnel, flagging areas of concern and coordinating with management to accommodate risk within the bid price
  • Maintain databases, including labour rates, material pricing and project costs, for future reference


Is this the right role for you?

  • You have a construction-related degree/diploma and a minimum of eight to ten years of estimating ICI projects
  • Ability to use AutoCad is an asset
  • You have a working knowledge of corporate objectives impacting estimating, estimating strategies and techniques, and construction contracts
  • Estimating experience in P3, Design Build, Design Build Facilities Management, Lump Sum, and Construction Management contracts is essential
  • You have the ability to work effectively and accurately in time-sensitive situations within a team
  • Be comfortable working autonomously, while providing updates when needed, and following EllisDon procedures at all times
  • Must be eligible for Reliability Clearance


The salary range for this job is $100,000 - $135,000 CAD
