Estimating Manager

SUMMARY

Mortenson's BLUvera Group is currently seeking an Estimating Manager with the ability to interact with a variety of staff at all levels in an ever-changing environment, remaining flexible, resourceful, proactive and efficient with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. The Estimating Manager will ensure the preparation of full estimates on a wide scale of project types and complexity levels.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepare concept level layouts for BLUvera products to develop baseline scope assumptions and preliminary quantities
  • Lead the preparation of cost estimates from concept development through the final proposal phase
  • Coordinate with BLUvera production and operations team members on production schedules, plant requirements and installation schedules
  • Lead estimate and production reviews with the BLUvera preconstruction and operations teams
  • Develop estimate and proposal deliverables for external and internal customers
  • Contribute to updating BLUvera standard product pricing schedules
  • Contribute to BLUvera product pricing and margin study analysis
  • Work with project teams to compile historical cost data to do cost benefit analysis of new product opportunities
  • Track products and projects through the sales cycle.
  • Develop relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to support BLUvera's geographical markets
  • Review and analyze financials from current and previous projects
  • Cash flow preparation.
  • Provide continuous process improvement through the product estimating & production cost tracking life cycle
  • Review project documents for potential conflicts and constructability questions
  • Collaborate with architects and engineers for clarification or additional information
  • Create and review internal cost estimates for factory operations
  • Develop and implement customer-centric cost estimation guidelines and recommendations to support product pricing and value communication
  • Develop, prepare, and review value analysis estimates for new product development


QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree with a focus in Manufacturing, Engineering or Construction Management
  • Minimum eight years of proven estimating experience, including working knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control, and material pricing
  • Experience reading and understanding engineering drawings, contracts, cost coding systems, etc.
  • Organized and detailed with proven ability to fulfill all responsibilities for multiple, complex projects
  • Possess basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices
  • Proven positive and professional attitude, and strong customer service skills
  • Strong teamwork orientation, initiative, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills
  • Applicable mathematical skills
  • Proficient with building/estimating techniques and software: Building Connected, WinEst, On-Screen Takeoff (OST), Bluebeam/PDF, Google Earth, Revit
  • Current driver's license

The base pay range for this role is $152,700 - $229,100. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL - 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR - 10%, Washington, D.C. - 12.5%).

Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortenson's incentive plan.
