Job Title:Estimating Manager - Industrial / Manufacturing
Location: Atlanta, GA / Kansas City, MO (Multiple Locations)
Job Type: Full-Time

The Estimating Manager - Industrial/Manufacturing is responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for competitive bids and negotiated proposals while supporting preconstruction strategy and project execution. This role plays a critical part in identifying cost efficiencies, improving project profitability, and delivering high-quality estimating outputs aligned with organizational standards.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in construction estimating, industrial/manufacturing projects, and preconstruction processes, along with the ability to collaborate with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients.

Key Responsibilities
Estimating & Preconstruction
  • Perform quantity takeoffs from drawings and specifications
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for bids and proposals
  • Develop material, labor, and cost summaries
  • Maintain audit trail of estimates and documentation
  • Analyze project scope, schedule, and logistics for accurate costing

Vendor & Subcontractor Coordination
  • Support bid solicitation and pricing coordination
  • Distribute plans and specifications to vendors/subcontractors
  • Develop and manage scopes of work for all trades
  • Coordinate bid day activities and summaries

Project Collaboration & Strategy
  • Work closely with operations, field teams, and stakeholders
  • Assist in developing cost-effective construction strategies
  • Support project logistics, staging, and phasing plans
  • Contribute to procurement presentations and planning

Process Improvement & Profitability
  • Identify value engineering opportunities
  • Improve project profitability through cost optimization
  • Apply understanding of fees, insurance, and cost structures
  • Support Lean construction principles and methodologies

Leadership & Development
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior team members
  • Build strong relationships with clients, vendors, and internal teams

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred)
  • Minimum 3+ years of estimating experience
  • Total 5+ years of construction experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of:
  • Construction drawings and specifications
  • Quantity takeoffs and cost estimation
  • Industrial / manufacturing construction projects

Required Skills
  • Proficiency in construction estimating software
  • Strong Excel and MS Office skills
  • Knowledge of construction methods and field operations
  • Ability to develop:
  • General requirement estimates
  • Scope of work for trades
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication and presentation skills
  • Experience with tools such as Revit, Lens, ASE (preferred)
  • Knowledge of Lean construction principles

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in industrial / manufacturing construction projects
  • Exposure to MEP systems and building components analysis
  • Experience with self-perform estimating and labor productivity
  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills
