Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Estate Attorney to join our team and focus on the administration side of estate planning. This role is dedicated to guiding families through the estate process following a death, including managing death claims, handling estate administration steps, and ensuring that legal and financial matters are efficiently resolved. The ideal candidate will balance technical expertise with empathy, providing families clarity and support during a challenging time.

This role would be based out of our corporate office in Scottsdale.

Duties and responsibilities
  • Lead estate and trust administration-including probate, post-death asset distribution, and death claims coordination with insurers, banks, and third parties.
  • Serve as a trusted guide to families and fiduciaries in navigating required next steps after a client's passing.
  • Collaborate internally with Trajan's in-house financial advisors and tax professionals to align estate settlement with broader wealth strategies
  • Draft, review, and file administration documents (e.g., probate petitions, inventories, accountings).
  • Communicate with executors, trustees, and beneficiaries in clear, empathetic terms-explaining complex procedures with sensitivity and understanding.
  • Protect heirs' interests, ensuring proper distribution, asset transfer, and minimizing legal pitfalls.
  • Stay current on relevant laws, including probate, trust, and estate tax rules both federally and within Arizona (and other states as applicable).
