The Evolved Sea Sparrow Missile (ESSM) program has an exciting opening for a Program Cost Controls Professional within the Naval Shipboard Missiles Sub-Strategic Business Unit. This position is a tremendous growth opportunity to support the upcoming FY27-29 production contract (~$2.5B award in 2027) by partnering with the program manager, technical leads, functional support and with existing concurrent block 2 production efforts. This includes but is not limited to supporting the appropriations request for FY27-29 and FY21-23 production contract currently planned to complete in 1Q27. This is a time of high growth and capacity increase for the program seeking a finance professional to be deeply integrated to meet our customer's requirements.
The ideal candidate is a strategic, self-directed leader who can prioritize and navigate a challenging, fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while effectively communicating across multifunctional stakeholder organizations. This role will lead complex, cross-functional initiatives and work collaboratively with stakeholders to strengthen analytical capabilities, improve processes, and establish appropriate functional ownership and accountability for results.
What You Will Do- Responsible for understanding the key business and financial drivers within respective contract assignment(s), identifying trends, risks, opportunities, and translating complex information into actionable recommendations for leadership.
- The selected candidate will operate with independence and exercise sound judgment in forecasting, risk identification, and financial planning.
- Collaborate with team members to meet contract, program, company and customer goals.
- Provide insightful cost, schedule, financial analysis/reporting utilizing company tools and processes.
- Coordinate the development of quarterly Estimate-at-Completion (EAC) and Latest Revised Estimates (LRE).
- Provide financial guidance and solutions to program team and functional leads.
- Build finance charts for monthly reviews, financial overviews and other reporting activities as required.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of Contract Data Requirement Lists (CDRLs).
- Establish and maintain program logs (work authorization, contract modification log).
What You Will Learn- How to shape financial execution strategy at the outset of a major production contract phase within a mature defense portfolio.
- Advanced forecasting and EAC methodologies across a complex, multi-year production environment.
- Integration of technology refreshes and obsolescence mitigation into established production baselines.
- Long-lead material planning and funding strategy in coordination with Supply Chain and Operations.
- Executive-level communication of program financial performance and risk posture.
- Cross-functional influence within a matrixed organization supporting large-scale defense production.
Qualifications You Must Have - Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience.
- Experience interfacing and conducting business within a matrix organization (contracts, engineering, operations, program management, supply chain, quality, etc.) in contract startup and execution.
- Experience with MS Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
- Experience with SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) (APEX, PRISM, BW) or similar ERP system.
- Understanding of AOP and Long-Range Planning (LRP), program forecasting, metrics, and partnering with program team to provide inputs/updates.
- Extensive and robust analytical/problem solving skills.
- Ability to meet critical deadlines, work in team environment to find solutions and implement continuous process improvement.
Qualifications We Prefer- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management both verbally and in written form.
- Ability to effectively work in a challenging and fast paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to be creative, proactive, innovative while using critical and strategic thinking within company policies.
- Advanced Excel skills include Power Query knowledge and data visualization.

The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
