Equipment Specialist/Technician
This position requires an active Secret clearance.
The Equipment Specialist/Technician will perform maintenance, inventory management, and equipment dispositions on primarily the following equipment: Non-Intrusive Inspection Systems (NIIS) such as vehicle, personnel and baggage scanners; barriers, Skywatch Towers, Armored Gate Houses, and other assorted Force Protection equipment in the AFCENT AOR.
Compensation & Benefits:
Estimated Starting Salary Range for Equipment Specialist/ Technician: $80,000 - $90,000
Pay commensurate with experience.

Equipment Specialist/ Technician Responsibilities Include:
- Perform all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on all equipment IAW Technical Orders and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) commercial manuals. Perform inspections, equipment modifications, repairs, and identify trends.
- Maintenance and repair tasks will require competency with electrical, hydraulics, glass replacement/repair, X-ray, and air conditioning.
- Carries out routine servicing of equipment as part of measures to prevent breakdowns and malfunctions, which could interrupt or halt production activities.
- Troubleshoots equipment to determine specific malfunctioning issues and assess them accordingly; evaluates and recommends equipment for disposition as appropriate.
- Prioritizes daily work orders according to level of importance.
- Communicates with management to inform them about equipment faults and Best Management Practices/maintenance techniques to implement for maximum performance for equipment located CONUS and OCONUS
- Perform updates in the management information system (MIS) recording assets and spare parts as part of the larger inventory reduction and rectification effort. Supports the overall inventory management between CONUS and OCONUS locations.
- Abides by safety regulations during manufacturing activities; performs equipment checks to prevent mechanical hazards which could cause harm to operators and workers.
- Completing daily reports or as assigned, OEM checklist and requirements documentation on preventative and corrective maintenance activities.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Equipment Specialist/ Technician Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent is required
- At least three (3) years of demonstrated experience working as a technician performing preventative, corrective and repairs services on Force Protection (FP) equipment
- Excellent communication skills; both verbal and written
- Preferred Radiation Certification (RSO)
- Must have an active US Passport or be able to attain within 3-6 months of hire
- Willing and able to travel Outside the Continental United States (OCONUS) if requested
- Willing and able to travel within the Area of Responsibility (AOR) if requested
- An Active Secret Clearance is required; verifiable in JPAS
- Must successfully pass a drug screen, medical clearance, and a background check
- Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
