Steinbeck Peninsula Equine Clinics (SPEC) is seeking a
board-certified or board-eligible equine surgeon with a strong interest in sports medicine and lameness to join our progressive, equine-exclusive practice on California's Central Coast.
This position offers a rare combination of
advanced surgical capability, high-level imaging, a strong referral base, and an exceptional quality of life in one of the most desirable equestrian regions in the country. Our world-class team consists of 22 doctors including multiple board-certified surgeons and internal medicine specialists, more than 30 skilled support staff, and consulting specialists in sports medicine, cardiology, oncology and opthamology.

- Modern surgical suite with dedicated anesthesia support

- Nuclear scintigraphy (bone scan)
- Digital radiography & ultrasound
- Comprehensive lameness evaluation capabilities
We also operate a busy satellite clinic in Menlo Park serving the San Francisco Bay Area sport horse community.

Ideal CandidateWe are seeking a surgeon who:
- Is board-certified or board-eligible (ACVS or equivalent) with a strong interest in sports medicine and lameness
- Enjoys collaboration in a multi-doctor environment and values mentorship and teaching of interns, students, and colleagues
- Communicates effectively with clients and referring veterinarians
- Is willing to participate in an equitable surgical on-call rotation
