Full Job Description
HDR is looking for a results-driven self-starter to work within our EPM (Enterprise Performance Management) Cloud systems support team. The EPM Systems Manager role will primarily focus on the PBC and PCM applications but also support other EPM applications as needed. We migrated from Hyperion on-premise applications to Oracle EPM Cloud in early 2026, modernizing our EPM platform. We are now utilizing the following EPM modules Planning and Budgeting (PBC), Profitability and Cost Management (PCM), Financial Close & Consolidation (FCC), Account Reconciliation System (ARC), Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG), Tax Reporting (TRC), and Enterprise Data Management (EDM). The EPM Systems Manager will play a meaningful role in providing technical support to these applications, maintaining business alignment, and continually improving related system and business processes. The EPM Systems Manager - PBC will also supervise one or more Senior Financial System Analysts. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following: Leadership Skill • Think strategically and make decisions with both immediate needs and long-term organizational goals and efficiencies in mind • Lead with curiosity, openness, and a willingness to consider diverse perspectives and innovative solution • Navigate stressful situations with professionalism, composure, and respect • Special projects, as assigned, may include high-level project planning, project management, data cleanup, and similar efforts. • Develop, mentor, and inspire team members through coaching, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing Business Alignment • Help stakeholders understand the advantages, disadvantages, risks, cost and resource constraints associated with enhancement requests. Maintain alignment with stakeholders about the EPM team's capacity to perform enhancement requests and mutually identify the enhancement requests that will be pursued based on established priorities and resources. • Provide support and training to stakeholders regarding the PBC and PCM modules, including the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team, Operations Finance team, Accounting team, and similar teams. • Translate business requirements into EPM technical solutions. • Gain and maintain knowledge of the business processes and objectives of stakeholder groups that are interconnected into the EPM applications. • Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholder group • Communicate clearly and collaborate effectively with to stakeholders and team members with diverse backgrounds and experience • Ability to collaborate with teammates and stakeholders to evaluate and refine technical processes and business objectives, driving continuous improvement • Combines strong business acumen with technical aptitude to translate business needs into effective solutions and outcome Technical Support • System Administration responsibilities relate primarily to PBC and PCM, with secondary support of FCC, ESG, TRC, ARC, as needed, to maintain cross-training and personnel backup objectives. • Responsibilities include performance and/or oversight of team members performing the following: o Metadata / master data administration o Write and maintain EPM system business rules (Groovy) and form o Maintain Data exchange and Pipelines as needed o Utilize EPM Automate for various processe o Maintain production and non-production environments including development work, cloning and restoring o Awareness of the EPM Integration Agent o Create and maintain desktop procedure documentation for core system processes, break fixes and maintenance o Identify and resolve system defects and issues with applications, including escalation of issues to Oracle Support and/or external vendor o Present system changes to the internal Change Advisory Board (CAB) o Develop and maintain EPM Financial Reports per the documented needs of stakeholder o Smart View - support install of Excel add-in with end users, assist with trouble-shooting issue o Assist with assigning EPM user security (application and dimension levels) o Reconcile EPM Cloud data to source systems, with assistance from the ARC tool where possible. o Maintain, enhance and administer data loads from EBS and other source o Review Oracle patching details and test EPM systems prior to patch release • Participate in rotating schedule to cover Saturday month end close activities (~2 hours every 3-5 months, on average) • Support various system transformation processe Preferred Qualification • 5+ years of experience in a large organization serving in a finance/accounting/systems support role • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business analytics, or applicable field • Strong written and verbal communication skills are critical as this role • Must demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skill • Must be self-motivated, well organized, and able to work well independently on multiple priorities with conflicting deadline • Ideal candidate is highly organized and detailed oriented, shows initiative and curiosity, questions the status. quo and is always seeking process improvement and efficiencies in EPM reporting • Desire and willingness to dig into the details. Attention to detail is critical to deliver accurate financial system reporting and support • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel • Self-starter and curiosity to seek innovative solutions and implement process improvements using AI tool • Organization of Data; Must be able to present financial systems data to finance and non-financial users in a succinct and easily understandable manner • Knowledge of master data hierarchies and currency translation is a plu • Experience with Hyperion and/or EPM Cloud applications including developing and maintaining Essbase rules, Oracle's E-Business Suite, Snowflake data platform, Co-pilot, and Alteryx, is a plu • Experience maintaining systems for a professional service firm Qualifications Required Qualifications • Bachelor's degree (Business/Accounting/Finance preferred) or equivalent years of experience • A minimum of 10 years of experience in ERP or Information Technology • Business and management skills: organization and time management, critical thinking, risk mitigation, decision making and relationship building • Leadership skills: emotional intelligence, effective communication, coaching, problem solving, conflict resolution, delegation, talent management and team building • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate assertively and to influence and motivate team members; clearly conveys messages and ideas, gains understanding; generates interest and holds attention, listens and is open to the ideas of others • Ability to make decisions and plans based on the vision, direction and long-term strategy of the organization, as well as experience in implementing strategies and with defining and establishing procedures • High level of initiative with commitment and ability to work extended hours as required, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines while still maintaining high-quality standards • Ability to research the root cause of problems, and collaborate with others while recommending and implementing lasting process improvements/enhancements to correct problems • Ability to work under minimal supervision
