Job Description

The Product Owner is responsible for executing the strategic direction, continuous improvement, functional and technical roadmap for the product or experience. Product Owners work with cross functional teams to:
  • Ensures the team is delivering the most value it can at any given time for the organization
  • Understand how to compete and differentiate in product delivery
  • Build the right foundations to create and scale differentiated experiences
  • Plan, manage, and drive applications for success in meeting product experience goals
  • Manage backlog of product deliverables, and improvise and build on learnings from qualitative and quantitative sources and in alignment with organizational goals
  • Consult with stakeholders to define requirements and develop solutions translating client's business requirements into specific systems, applications and designs for solutions.


Responsibilities

  1. Own and maintain the product roadmap and delivery plan, ensuring alignment between strategic objectives, stakeholder priorities, and development activities.
  2. Collaborate with technical teams to evaluate solution options and ensure designs align with business objectives, architecture standards, and product strategy.
  3. Manage product intake, backlog refinement, prioritization, and ad hoc requests to ensure delivery teams focus on the highest-value work.
  4. Define, monitor, and report on KPIs and success metrics to assess product performance and value realization.
  5. Quality control: Define clear requirements, acceptance criteria for user stories and validate deliverables to ensure they meet the Definition of Done (DoD).
  6. Partner with and present to business stakeholders, value stream leaders, executives and delivery teams to align priorities, manage expectations, and drive product decisions.
  7. Develop presentations and communication materials that translate complex technical, operational, and project information into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders and leadership.
  8. Lead Agile product management practices, including planning, prioritization, retrospectives, and continuous improvement to maximize team effectiveness and delivery outcomes.
  9. Determining the overall timelines for the projects and use tactical sessions sprints scrum huddles, documents designed to capture and track the features planned for the project releases and sprint backlog tasks
  10. Conduct demos to show the value of the product, project or service to a current or prospective business group.
  11. Performs related duties as assigned or requested.


Qualifications

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or healthcare discipline.


Experience:
  • Seven or more years of related experience with in-depth knowledge of associated technology areas; healthcare technology experience preferred.
  • Epic Grand Central Certification and experience required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to translate complex technical concepts into understandable terms, tailor communication to audience, mediate and facilitate communications between leaders, stakeholders and team members,. Communicate architecture and design effectively to all levels of management and customers. Ability to gain buy-in from stakeholders. Ability to resolve complex architecture issues.


Compensation Statement

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $109,000.00 - $163,695.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
