SHSO-Sutter Health System Office-Valley

Position Overview:
Serves as a team leader in expertise of their assigned Epic Modules. Responsible for leading the team through projects and optimization efforts. Serves as an Epic expert for the rest of the team and educates them and end-users on the capability of the Epic system, workflow best practices, and resolves all issues that arise from an Epic standpoint.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Works with business and clinical operations to obtain and create user workflow documentation, proposes new workflow based on industry knowledge and process design techniques, and effectively executes change management activities to create operations support.
  • Educates operations and application colleagues of current issues and trends in health care. Steers operations, support and development teams when creating workflows and configuring the Epic System.
  • Leverages thorough Epic knowledge and Epic Employed resources to lead others in the creation of System Development Guidelines.
  • Ensures relationships exist between Sutter Health colleagues and Epic personnel and creates opportunities to strengthen those by involving all parties when determining best practice configuration and build. Teaches others how to identify and address when gaps exist.
  • Leads the development of test scripts and ensures proper testing of the system whenever any new build is ready prior to production implementation. Ensures team members are knowledgeable and works with peers across functional silos to ensure comprehensive coverage of test scripts, scenarios, and requirements.
  • Leverages expert knowledge of interdependencies of assigned applications; designs, implements and maintains interoperability between Epic and other systems. Leads the team and works with other teams to resolve complex issues.
  • Leads team members and operationally colleagues through changes with Epic build and configuration to maintain compliance with regulatory changes and technical requirements i.e., operating system advancements.
  • Serves as primary contact and works with customers and peers to build and maintain various system dictionaries, profiles, tables, and other configuration points to meet customer needs.
  • Works with customers and utilizes expert knowledge of the Epic system and independently resolves the most complex, multi-function application errors and other system issues due to incorrect configurations or application/system code issues.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve build and testing processes and leads the efforts to implement them.
  • Participates as a team member in various projects and leads complex digital projects.


EDUCATION:

Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:
  • Must possess Epic Certification upon hire


TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
  • 5 years recent relevant experience


PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Experience supporting Epic workflows for remote patient monitoring, population health, chronic disease management, or longitudinal care management programs.
  • Epic certification or proficiency in Healthy Planet, Compass Rose, MyChart, Cheers, Ambulatory, or another relevant Epic application.
  • Experience configuring workflows involving patient-generated health data, connected devices, automated outreach, alerts, questionnaires, and clinical escalation pathways.
  • Knowledge of remote patient monitoring workflows, including enrollment, device onboarding, monitoring adherence, alert management, clinical review, patient outreach, and program discharge.
  • Experience designing scalable Epic solutions that span multiple applications, clinical and operational teams, interfaces, and third-party systems.
  • Strong understanding of Epic registries, work queues, reporting, patient communication, care plans, clinical decision support, and task management.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership, mentor analysts, establish build and testing standards, and translate complex clinical and operational requirements into sustainable Epic solutions.

Pay Range is $142,105.60 to $213,158.40 / annual salary. Applicants in the following states: Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas Pay Range is $48.24 to $72.36 / annual salary. Applicants in the following states: Arizona, Arkansas, Idaho, Lousiana, Missiouri, Montana, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah Pay Range is $42.88 to $64.32 / annual salary.

The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate's experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs. Base pay is only one component of Sutter Health's comprehensive total rewards program. Eligible positions also include a comprehensive benefits package.
