Epic Enterprise Project - Now Seeking Candidates with Revenue Cycle and/or Epic Principal Trainer Experience

Epic Enterprise Project Overview

This position plays a key role in Baton Rouge General's Epic Enterprise Project, a system-wide initiative designed to enhance healthcare delivery through advanced electronic health record (EHR) technologies. In this role, you will support, implement, and optimize Epic Revenue Cycle applications, ensuring efficient financial workflows and a positive patient and staff experience.

We strongly encourage applicants with Revenue Cycle, HIM, Patient Financial Services (PFS), Admissions, Billing, Coding, or Epic training backgrounds to apply. Experience supporting financial and administrative workflows provides critical insight into system configuration, end-user training, and optimization opportunities.

What We're Looking For
  • Completion of Epic-related training projects and/or proficiency assessments
  • Epic certification strongly preferred for PB and HB Claims
  • Strong customer service orientation with the ability to support internal users professionally and proactively
  • 2-5 years of experience in a healthcare-related field, particularly within Revenue Cycle operations (registration, billing, coding, follow-up, or related areas)
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, healthcare administration, or a related field strongly preferred
  • 2-3 years of experience with personal computers; PC hardware troubleshooting experience helpful
  • Ability to analyze workflows, identify issues, build and test system changes, and implement approved enhancements
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with operational leaders, technical teams, and Epic representatives
  • Demonstrated initiative, ethical standards, and commitment to privacy, security, and safety protocols


Candidates with Experience Such as the Following Are Highly Encouraged to Apply
  • Revenue Cycle professionals with experience in patient access, charging, billing, claims, or follow-up workflows
  • HIM or Coding professionals with knowledge of documentation, coding, and reimbursement processes
  • Epic Trainers, Credentialed Trainers, or Principal Trainers supporting Revenue Cycle applications
  • Operational leaders or analysts with hands-on Epic Revenue Cycle workflow knowledge


What You Will Do
  • Provide Epic application and software support for Revenue Cycle-related systems and workflows
  • Manage and prioritize system maintenance, upgrades, and optimal utilization of Epic applications
  • Serve as a liaison between operational end users and technical teams to ensure system functionality aligns with business needs
  • Act as a primary support contact for Epic Revenue Cycle application users
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve application issues, collaborating across teams as needed
  • Support workflow design, system build, testing, and validation activities
  • Implement system changes and enhancements requested by operational stakeholders
  • Communicate regularly with Epic representatives and participate in project and governance meetings
  • Collaborate with clinical, financial, and business teams to meet Epic project deliverables
  • Develop a strong understanding of Revenue Cycle workflows to support ongoing optimization and training
  • Deliver end-user training, education, and at-the-elbow support as needed
  • Monitor project status, timelines, and deliverables
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
