Job DescriptionAs an Environmental Technician, you will be responsible for the safe collection, handling, storage, characterization, transportation, and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste generated at the Geismar, Louisiana facility as well as provide similar support on a limited basis at the Baton Rouge Facility. This position supports compliance with environmental regulations, company policies, and industry best practices by managing waste streams, conducting inspections, maintaining documentation, and assisting with environmental programs. This position will report to the Environmental Manager and will partner with business leaders and employees to continuously improve HSE culture, awareness, and accountability in support of business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:- Collect, segregate, package, label, and manage hazardous, non-hazardous, universal, and recyclable waste streams.
- Perform waste characterization and profiling in accordance with regulatory requirements and company procedures.
- Manage satellite accumulation areas (SAAs) and central waste accumulation areas.
- Prepare waste containers for storage, transport, and disposal.
- Coordinate waste shipments with approved waste disposal vendors and transportation contractors.
- Conduct routine inspections of waste storage areas, containers, and associated equipment.
- Monitor waste inventories and ensure proper container management and storage practices.
- Assist with spill prevention, containment, and cleanup activities.
- Respond to environmental incidents and emergencies as part of the facility emergency response team, as required.
- Support wastewater treatment, stormwater management, recycling, and pollution prevention programs.
- Conduct routine environmental sampling, inspections, and monitoring activities.

- Assist in the development and execution of environmental remediation strategies to address environmental challenges efficiently and effectively
- Conduct environmental assessments, site investigations, and risk assessments to determine the extent of contamination and appropriate remediation methods
- Support the selection and implementation of remediation techniques, technologies, and methods tailored to specific environmental challenges
- Collaborate with regulatory agencies, local communities, and stakeholders to ensure compliance, transparency, and effective communication during remediation efforts
- Contribute to the establishment and enforcement of quality control standards in environmental remediation
QualificationsYOU MUST HAVE- Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in engineering, manufacturing, environmental science, or related field. Emphasis in Environmental management (Air, Water, and Waste)
- Minimum 3 years of Environmental experience
WE VALUE- Hazardous Waste programs management experience
- Working knowledge of local and Federal Environmental regulations
- Manufacturing industry experience

COMPENSATIONThe annual base salary range for this position is $89,361k - $111,701k. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline.
