Your Opportunity + Impact

The Technical Specialist collaborates closely with the technical team and contributes to all stages and environmental disciplines of the projects. Serving as a subject-matter expert, this role ensures the technical accuracy and quality of assigned work and oversees aspects of work performed by others. The Technical Specialist also assists the Project Team in developing scope and fee estimates for small to moderate single-discipline projects or specific disciplines within multi-discipline projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participates in planning, scheduling and execution of tasks, prepares reports and permit packages, and supports the successful delivery of projects under the guidance of project managers.
  • Provides technical expertise on complex projects, offering reliable input and support throughout all project stages.
  • Builds and maintains strong cross-departmental and interdisciplinary relationships to promote collaboration and project success.
  • Applies in-depth knowledge of the environment, standards, and regulations to ensure compliance and high-quality work deliverables.
  • Assists in developing project schedules, preparing technical proposals, and estimating labor hours to support planning and execution.
  • Collaborates with project teams to clarify, implement, and successfully deliver the defined scope of work.
  • Promotes and follows established quality assurance and quality control processes to improve outcomes and minimize errors.
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to team members, helping them develop technical skills and professional growth.
  • Maintains professional certifications in fields of expertise as needed.
  • Demonstrates extensive knowledge and experience of permitting and regulatory
  • requirements relative in OH, PA, NY, or WV. Permits include, Chapter 102, 105, Section 404, Nationwide, and NEPA

Education and Experience
  • Education: Associate or Bachelor's degree in Environmental Management,
  • Environmental Science, Biology, or related field of study; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of fifteen (15) years' job-related experience.
  • Experience: Knowledge in Wetlands, Threatened and Endangered Species, Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessments, Infiltration Testing, Hazardous Waste Remediation.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrates a strong desire to expand knowledge and take on new responsibilities within the field.
  • Proficient with ArcGIS, Auto CAD, Hydrologic and Hydraulic software, and handheld GPS and other field-testing equipment, including maintenance procedures.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook).
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet project deadlines effectively.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a project team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact professionally with clients, vendors, and other external sources.
