ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The position is responsible for the daily operational management of the ESL/Reliability laboratories. This position oversees onsite engineering operations, chamber utilization, staffing coordination, customer execution, test scheduling, and operational efficiency across wireless certification and reliability programs.

This role serves as the primary onsite operational leader responsible for ensuring successful execution of customer projects, maintaining laboratory productivity, supporting engineering teams, and driving operational excellence across ESL and Reliability testing services.

This position reports to the West Coast Director of Operations/General Manager of Santa Clara

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the ESL Environmental/Reliability laboratory teams, ensuring efficient execution of customer projects, staffing alignment, chamber utilization, and on-time delivery while maintaining high levels of quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Understand customer timelines and operational priorities while working closely with the ESL team effectively managing scheduling, staffing, and laboratory resources. Implement policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency, testing quality, and overall customer experience.
  • Drive operational growth and revenue generation by maximizing laboratory utilization, supporting new service offerings, improving throughput, and working cross-functionally with customers, sales, and technical leadership to expand business opportunities.
  • Support the development of the onsite ESL/Realibility teams by improving technical knowledge and understanding of Vibration, Thermal Dynamics, Electro-Mechanical systems. Foster team redundancy and confidence to ensure successful execution across all operational areas.
  • Oversee testing operations supporting vibration, thermal, and customer value proposition test cells.
  • Work with Operations Director, test equipment vendors, and chamber suppliers to obtain quotes, coordinate purchases, and maintain operational readiness for certification, calibration, chamber verification, and future laboratory expansion activities.
  • Maintain compliance with A2LA and CB accreditation requirements while supporting audits, quality initiatives, and continuous process improvements.


Qualifications

Required Educational Qualifications
  • Bachelor's of Science degree in preferably Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering or related field OR a minimum of 10+ years of related industry experience

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum 5 - 15 + years of environmental testing or design/automation or general ESL experience
  • Ability to design/troubleshoot/maintain an electro-mechanical system
  • SME - Environmental/Dynamics/Electronics
  • Developing detailed plans for new designs and products
  • Making determinations for equipment, staff and training needs
  • Proposing project and program budgets
  • Hiring and supervising staff
  • Leading research and development projects that produce new designs, products and processes
  • Able to stand or sit for long periods of time
  • Able to lift up to 30 pounds
  • Ability to climb ladders and use scissor lifts to mount devices, such as antennas
  • Ability to safely use power tools and perform light machining
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
  • Experience working with diverse teams (engineering, operations, marketing) is preferred
  • Ability to travel between Santa Clara & Union City
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.


Additional Information

Position is full-time, working Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm, with overtime as needed. Thisposition requires candidates to reside within a commutable distance to Santa Clara, CA
  • Compensation: $145,000 - $160,000 (depedent on expereince)
