The opportunity:

Associated Environmental Consultants, part of the Associated Engineering Group of companies, is a proudly Canadian, employee-owned organization. We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Environmental Scientist and Project Manager to join our team in our Edmonton office. In this role you will be responsible for supporting environmental projects through field data collection, analysis, and technical input for Phase I and II assessments, landfill monitoring, lagoon management, remediation, and contaminated sites work. This role is well suited to a junior to intermediate-level scientist eager to build hands-on experience across a wide range of environmental projects and settings.

What you'll do:
  • Business development, including developing and managing client relationships, and strategic proposal writing.
  • Lead and manage the environmental aspects of municipal infrastructure projects, including environmental studies, permitting, tender development, contract administration, and construction compliance.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, regulatory agencies and other stakeholders to ensure environmental requirements are integrated into project design and implementation.
  • Provide expert guidance on environmental regulations, policies, and best practices to ensure project compliance.
  • Act as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies.
  • Mentor and support junior staff, fostering a culture of professional development and collaboration.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers and other scientists.
  • Support and lead project management, including task planning, scheduling, and budgeting.

  • Proven experience as an effective and results-driven project manager.
  • Strong knowledge of the Alberta market, including key local and regional stakeholders, with an in-depth understanding of environmental regulatory frameworks and policies.
  • Valid driver's licence.
