Responsibilities

  • Collect and manage project-related data through surveys and field investigations
  • Prepare constraints mapping for environmental assessments
  • Define required environmental analysis levels for projects
  • Conduct environmental impact assessments independently
  • Assist in public information meetings and hearings as necessary
  • Coordinate permit processes for both public and private clients
  • Independently manage medium-sized projects or support senior scientists on larger projects

Full Job Description
In the role of Environmental Scientist II, we'll count on you to

  • Collect project-related data, which may include research, conducting surveys for listed species, interviews with government agencies and clients, map reviews, field investigations for wetlands, land use, etc
  • Assimilate and manage data
  • Prepare constraints mapping
  • Define the level of environmental analysis required
  • Conduct environmental impact assessments
  • Perform complex assignments, making independent decisions on problems and methods
  • Assist in preparation for and participation in public information meetings and hearings
  • Assist public and private clients with permit coordination, acquisition and compliance
  • Work independently on medium-size projects, or assist more-senior scientists on larger projects
  • Perform other related duties as needed


Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 years experience as a CESL inspector on construction sites.
