Environmental Qualification Engineer/Principal Environmental Qualification Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be in
Melbourne, FL and will be based within our office spaces to support the program and business needs. This position has
NO Hybrid or Remote work available.
**This position may be filled either at the Environmental Qualification Engineer level OR at the Principal Environmental Qualification Engineer level based on the qualifications listed.**
The candidate will be responsible for the Environmental Qualification Engineering Lead and Specialty Engineering Manager and work with other IPTs to successfully implement requirements, design and verification necessary to achieve successful system equipment qualification.
Roles and Responsibilities:- Interpret design guidelines, review test procedures, test reports, technical analyses, participate in cross discipline design reviews, develop models and perform analyses on components, subsystems, and systems in accordance with governmental and non-governmental standards, for example MIL-STD-810 and DO-160 and travel to supplier sites to guide/witness tests.
- Interpret, allocate, tailor, and flow down requirements to all design levels.
- Support design reviews for internal and external customers regarding EQ issues.
Basic Qualifications:- Engineer: Must have a Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 2 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; OR a Master's degree in a (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 0 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering.
- Principal Engineer: Must have a Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 5 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; OR a Master's degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university AND 3 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; or a Ph.D. AND 1 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering.
- Knowledge in thermal and/or vibration analysis and related software such as ANSYS, Flotherm, FEMAP, etc.
- Must have an active US Government Secret Clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.
Preferred Qualifications:- Knowledge in electronics or electro-mechanical design includes understanding of packaging and interconnecting.
- Familiarity with Model BASED Systems Engineering and SysML tools such as Cameo
- An active Top-Secret clearance
Primary Level Salary Range: $79,300.00 - $118,900.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
