Step Into Your New Role

 

Kleinfelder is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join the Environmental Permitting and Planning (EP&P) Team in our Tampa, Florida office.

 

The successful candidate should be a self-starter who can provide project management and technical support to ecology and environmental permitting projects and proposals. The candidate will be responsible for proposing, planning, executing and managing projects of varying complexity with multidisciplinary teams. The position requires strong collaboration skills, project management, and client engagement in support of our Clients in the Southeast, as well as experience with proposal preparation (scoping and pricing).

This position is anticipated to be 70% office work/30% field work. Some travel (local/overnight) may be anticipated.

 

The ideal candidate should demonstrate:

  • Excellent teamwork and leadership skills, as well as ability to effectively manage a team.
  • Ability to effectively engage directly with staff and leadership. 
  • Strong experience working with state and federal regulations, including all steps of design, submittal, and regulatory interface associated with permits under:
    • Florida Department of Environmental Protection,
    • Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission,
    • State of Florida’s water management districts,
    • U.S. Army Corps of Engineers,
    • U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and
    • U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service
  • Strong technical writing and QA/QC skills
  • Ability to effectively manage and deliver proposals and reports.

All candidates require:

  • Bachelor degree in Biology, Ecological Science, Environmental Policy, Geology, or related field; Master’s degree preferred;
  • Minimum 6 years of related experience, including 3-4 years project related experience and knowledge of applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.
  • Applicable experience in the Florida and knowledge of Florida’s threatened and endangered species, ecosystems, and vegetation preferred.

 

Candidate will be required to go through and obtain an MSHA New Miner Training certificate as part of on-the-job training, in addition to other relevant safety and service line training as required.  Additionally, candidate will be required to complete Kleinfelder’s project management qualifications within one (1) year of hire.

 

Following an offer, candidates will be required to satisfactorily complete employment reference checks, verification of professional licensure and/or educational credentials, a motor vehicle report (MVR), and a comprehensive background check.
