Environmental Manager to lead environmental compliance, sustainability, and environmental risk-management programs across its industrial operations. The Environmental Manager will be responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable
federal, state, and local environmental regulations, permits, and reporting requirements.
Position DescriptionThis position will work closely with
Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Leadership to identify environmental risks, implement corrective actions, improve environmental performance, and promote a strong culture of environmental compliance and sustainability.
The Environmental Manager will oversee programs involving
air emissions, wastewater and stormwater, hazardous and non-hazardous waste, chemical management, spill prevention, environmental permitting, regulatory reporting, inspections, audits, and environmental incident investigations.
The position will also serve as the primary environmental contact for
regulatory agencies, consultants, contractors, and third-party auditors. The Environmental Manager will develop environmental training, establish performance metrics, manage environmental projects and consultants, and identify opportunities to reduce waste, emissions, energy consumption, water use, and overall environmental risk.
The successful candidate should have strong knowledge of environmental regulations and industrial compliance requirements, excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively with both technical teams and senior leadership.
Position Requirements- Lead and manage the site's environmental compliance program.
- Ensure compliance with applicable EPA, state, and local environmental regulations, permits, and reporting requirements.
- Manage air emissions, wastewater/stormwater, hazardous and non-hazardous waste, chemical management, and spill prevention programs.
- Maintain environmental permits, records, procedures, and regulatory documentation.
- Prepare and submit required environmental reports, notifications, permit applications, and regulatory correspondence.
- Conduct environmental inspections, audits, risk assessments, and compliance reviews.
- Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions for environmental findings.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for environmental regulators, consultants, and third-party auditors.
- Lead environmental incident investigations, including spills, releases, permit deviations, and potential violations.
- Develop and deliver environmental training for employees and contractors.
- Establish environmental performance metrics and communicate results to site and corporate leadership.
- Identify opportunities to reduce waste, emissions, energy consumption, water use, and environmental risk.
- Manage environmental consultants, contractors, sampling programs, and project budgets as needed.
