Ashland has an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Manager to join our business at our Calvert City, KY plant. This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the Environmental function. This position will report to EHSS Manager.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Environmental Compliance Leadership
- Environmental Reporting and Regulatory Submittals
- Water Compliance and Wastewater Management
- Air Compliance and Air Permitting
- Industry Advocacy and External Engagement
- Community Relations
- Environmental Training and Program Development
- Corporate Technical Support

- Travel Responsibilities – You will get to see the world (or just the US) and meet your colleagues < 10% of the time
What This Role Is Not:
- Not an entry level position – we need a candidate to hit the ground running with solid experience and a background to prove it
- Not a box ticking role, we want to live our processes and procedures
- This is not creating a new program from scratch
In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:
- BS in a science or engineering related field
- 10+ years in Environmental and EHS related field, in a manufacturing environment
- Kentucky Wastewater Operator Level 3, or be able to obtain in reasonable amount of time
- Working knowledge in: RCRA, Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, KY regulations. TRI, SARA reporting
- Experience with regulatory and community agencies
- Demonstrated responsible and ethical behavior at all times
- The ability to help the company drive greater value through understanding the business, making complex decisions and creating the new and different
The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:
- Landfill management
- Experience in CDX reporting
