Full Job Description
Job Summary: The Director of Supply and Demand Planning leads integrated demand and supply planning for the Circular Solutions (CS) and Rubber Processing (RP) business units. The role owns the end-to-end planning process across customer demand, production capacity, inventory, signal alignment with procurement, and the multi-site rubber processing network. This leader translates internal and external customer requirements into a rolling demand plan, converts that plan into executable supply and capacity plans, and drives S&OP/SIOP decisions that balance service, inventory, cash flow, transportation, waste, and profitability.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Integrated Planning Leadership
    • Develop and execute an integrated demand and supply planning strategy for CS and RP that aligns internal customer, external customer, site, and enterprise objectives.
    • Own the monthly S&OP/SIOP process and the weekly execution cadence, ensuring cross-functional alignment across Business Unit P&Ls and Work Function Units.
    • Translate the demand plan into capacity, production, procurement, inventory, and logistics requirements across the Business Units network.
    • Oversee capacity and production planning to optimize efficiency and minimize waste across the network, including transportation costs and total business profitability.
    • Create decision-ready scenarios for demand surges, excess supply, capacity constraints, supply disruptions, and changes in customer or product mix.
  • Demand Planning and Forecasting
    • Develop and maintain a rolling 24-month demand plan by product, site, and customer for internal customers and external third-party markets; provide demand-plan input to Finance for budgets and operating plans based on business inputs.
    • Establish a disciplined forecast intake and review process that assesses customer forecasts, sales history, market indicators, confidence levels, inventory position, and forecast accuracy trends.
    • Ensure the aggregated demand plan is accurately transferred into the MRP/ERP environment and visible to supply planning and operating teams.
    • Identify product, material, and attachment-rate interdependencies so that forecast changes are translated into complete material and production requirements.
    • Partner with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Product, and business leaders to incorporate promotions, product launches, scheduled jobs, market changes, risks, and opportunities into the demand plan.
    • Own demand-planning governance, including assumptions, version control, forecast overrides, accountability, and escalation of material demand changes within the firm period.
  • Inventory & Network Supply Management
    • Own the functional (On Time Delivery) and financial (Inventory) bridge between partner factories, suppliers, and fulfillment centers.
    • Manage inventory strategy and product lifecycle management to ensure product availability and cost efficiency in a largely Make to Stock Product Offering.
    • Coordinate with procurement, logistics, and operations to maximize in-stock rates and minimize lead times including setting make-to-stock and make-to-order levels for components.
    • Coordinate with plant and operations leaders to optimize production material flows, customer and business metrics, and contingency plans including stocking targets at levels of production.
    • Identify and resolve supply constraints; recommend third-party procurement, capacity changes, inventory deployment, or demand-prioritization actions as required.
  • Cross-Facility Coordination
    • Ensure data accuracy and visibility of demand signals across all sites to inform supply plans.
    • Facilitate scenario modeling and proactive decision-making to address supply chain disruptions.
    • Align new product introductions and end-of-life transitions with inventory and production plans across all facilities as well as identify local manufacturing options to minimize supply costs.
    • Align sites with tools and behaviors to recognizing "sister site" stock out and replenishment behavior as well as incorporation into demand signals.
  • Technology & Process Improvement
    • Leverage ERP (Kinetic) and other available software tools to ensure integrated signals and data enable local decision making and response to signals including ensuring data accuracy/rationalization.
    • Evaluate and integrate AI and data-driven planning solutions to enhance forecasting and responsiveness.
    • Drive continuous improvement in planning processes, tools, and KPIs.
    • Help identify and coordinate site specific triggers with corporate level reporting tools to ensure data accuracy at all levels of organization or help facilitate reconciliation.
  • Performance Management
    • Establish and monitor KPIs for forecast accuracy, inventory efficiency, waste reduction, and service levels.
    • Hold production partners and facilities accountable for on-time shipments and inventory targets.
    • Create iterative process to improve SIOP through learnings in performance.
  • Team Leadership & Collaboration
    • Lead and mentor a high-performing planning team members embedded in sites or shared services, promoting accountability and professional development.
    • Partner with procurement, manufacturing, logistics, finance, and facilities teams to ensure integrated planning.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Operations, or related field.
  • Experience: 7-10+ years in supply chain planning, procurement, or operations management.
  • Skills:
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; proficiency in ERP and forecasting tools.
    • Certifications (Preferred): APICS CPIM, CSCP, or SAP IBP certification.


Scope of Responsibilities

  • Planning Coverage: Monthly S&OP for Circular Solutions and Rubber Processing Business Units, with scenario planning for regional and global demand shifts. Looking at up to rolling 24 months SIOP view.
  • Inventory Oversight: Centralized safety stock modeling, regional inventory pooling, and local buffer management.
  • Coordination: Weekly cross-site planning meetings, shared forecasting dashboards, and unified KPI tracking.
  • Risk Management: Multi-site contingency planning for supply disruptions, demand spikes, excess supply, or capacity constraints.
