Full Job Description
The Environmental Health and Safety Manager is responsible for the development, implementation and review of safety, health, and environmental programs across multiple locations. This role ensures compliance with all applicable regulations, promotes a proactive safety culture, and drives continuous improvement in workplace safety and environmental performance. The EHS Manager partners with site leadership to standardize best practices while addressing site-specific risks.

The position is responsible for maintaining excellent relationships with safety, environmental regulatory agencies and other appropriate third parties.

Location: On-Site (Streetsboro, OH) and ability to travel to other locations biweekly or as needed

Job Duties:
  • Lead EHS initiatives and ensure consistent execution across locations
  • Maintain appropriate data and information systems
  • Report progress and problems to sites and company leadership
  • Review and interpret SHE regulators and assist in determination of impact to the sites/facilities.
  • Develop procedures and forms needed to manage all functions
  • Develops training materials, provides training, or arranges for the delivery of training for all functions
  • Conduct internal auditing processes designed to identify and correct deficiencies vs. standards for all applicable functions
  • Manage regulatory reporting, audits and inspections
  • Work with other departments and onsite contractors to achieve regulatory compliance and safety targets.
  • Communication of safety, health & environmental information among employees, contractors, customers, and visitors.
  • Work with Environmental Specialist to maintain all permits and programs (e.g. SPCC, SWP3, NPDES, and non-Title V) designed to prevent, contain, mitigate, or report releases or exceedance as required by regulation/agreement.
  • Provide key support for facilities safety, health & environmental compliance program
  • Provide key support for facilities incident investigations
  • Support plant shutdowns and pre-startup activities
  • Research safety and environmental requirements associated with equipment standards being developed
  • Monitor compliance with permits and negotiate new permits when required
  • Analyze trends to develop proactive risk reduction strategies
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using data and KPI analysis


Qualifications and Experience Requirements:

  • BS/BA degree in Safety Engineering, Environmental Engineering or related technical field

  • Minimum of 3-years' experience in a safety and environmental role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of federal, state and local environmental laws/regulations relating to air/water/solid and hazardous waste.
  • Working knowledge of behavior-based safety including general principles, audit process and root cause analysis.
  • Experience in hazard awareness and risk assessment for flammable and hazardous materials.
  • Solid leadership, management, motivational, supervisory and administrative skills.
  • Solid interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills.
  • Demonstrated root-cause analysis skills.
  • Demonstrated Safety and health assessments/audit skills.
  • Demonstrated effective training techniques and skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Computer proficiency in software applications required for analyzing, monitoring, reporting and presentations.


Additional Consideration:
  • Understanding of electrical classifications and ergonomics principles a plus.
  • Experience in Lean, Six Sigma or similar continuous process improvement methodology
  • Analytical ability to determine and develop solutions to moderately complex problems


Work Environment:

This position will perform most job duties in an office environment where using a computer, software applications, telephone, printer, etc. are essential. Frequent visits to the plants/distribution areas/locations are a must. Ability to respond to emergency situations as needed.
